4 new songs posted!

I've posted four new songs on my soundclick page. Actually, one is an old live performance from my old band, but it's new to all y'all. I'd love to hear what you think.

The new songs are:
Lover Box
TLC
What U Say
Taste of You - Live

Thanks,

drew

Thanks for listening, talmuzic. I've never hid who my main influence is. I don't purposly try to sound like anyone, it's just what comes out of me. What has amazed me though is the amount of people that compare me to boy george. hmm

I like the music, but the music quality sounds like an old Prince bootleg. What are you using to record your music? Just curious. You've got some great ideas, but they totally suffer from these lo-fi recordings. Ditto for the vocals - it seems like you've pushed the vocals as far back into the mix as you can (altho that could be from the lo-fi mix...)

I hope you understand that I'm not criticizing your work at all. I'm just curious about the lo-fi mixes in this day of digitalia.

Very Depeche/80s Prince sounds in there.

You're gonna laugh when you hear this. All of these songs are 6+ years old. The music was all recorded on an old Atari qbase system. I then used a Tascam 8 track (that I bought from Tommy Barbarella) to make the demos and add vocals. But the record and playback heads are a little off on it, so I couldn't edit any vocals. I'm not that good of a singer to begin with, and all of the vocals are one take for each track, which is why I burried them. After I recorded these songs, I copied the songs to a regular cassette, which was a good thing because my house got broke into shortly after that and all of the originals were stolen. So what you're hearing are the mp3's I took off of the cassette tape. I finally had some extra cash last winter and bought an Apple to start recording everything again, and the guy helping me set it up messed up a couple of things, and I haven't heard from him since. Now that my work schedule is finally slowing down, I might be able to get that apple up and running. I still have the atari, which works great at playing back all of the music I've ever recorded, but it wont record anymore. Once I get the apple up, and get the atari to talk to it, I can re-work the music, and use these rough demos to hire a singer or two and get these things sounding up-to-date. Not only that, but once the dang thing is working, I can also start recording the new songs that have been building up in me.
