B thankful 4 NPGMC!

I just read a report that George Micheal recently shut down his fan chat site because fans were badmouthing his new music and calling him old and overweight. Prince could do that as well. The fact that they only edit the malicious negativity is cool, in my opinion.

I love NPGMC - and it is paying off with great downloads for very low prices. If I can get a new Prince song for the loose change I find in my ashtray, its all good.

Why make this post here instead of the NPGMC?

For the record I have heard that they edit everything whether it be "malicious" or not.

Why? Because...

1. Many of the NPGMC haters and memebers are here
2. I posted on NPGMC
3. I felt like it

Yeah .. go on Prince ... call George Michael fat and overweight too.

BTW

1. There is still a chat facility at George Michael's website
2. George Michael annonced in March that following his latest album and associated singles releases, he will simply release music for free ... Prince could do that too.

.

I see what you're saying...but I think NPGMC should thank US, not the other way around. Without a loyal fan base, the club wouldn't exist at all. If the Musicology room and NPG Retail weren't modestly profitable, I'm guessing they'd pull the plug pretty quickly.

I'm thankful that the club exists, and I show that appreciation by purchasing music and joining the club. Buying single tracks for 77 cents is certainly worth it in my mind. I see it as worth my $$, they see it as providing a service at a fair price. As long as both parties see the relationship as amicable, no one owes anyone anything more. But I think you could argue that the club needs its members more than the members need the club. Keeping members happy should be job #1.

If you love censorship so much and can't stand criticism towards Prince which will always happen as long as there is freedom of speech and people are allowed to express their opinions you should go back to the NPGMC, you will be a lot happier there nod nod
With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

Yes, it is still open but he has given notice that it will be closing. I think he has given it a month so that members can make alternative arrangements with each other if needed.

while i hate the idea of "censorship " altogher !~! ... i have to say this ...that sometimes "freedom" is taken far too much ... with the "freedom of speech" concept ... on these websites --- and on the street ....

case in point --- on john blackwell's website ... after his recent tragedy ... i saw some "nut" posted about how the "drowning was johns fault and he should feel guilt .... etc " .... while freedom of speech is great --- some people get alittle carried away .... especially on these sites .... thus the need for moderators --- and sometimes .... neutral ... maybe alittle editing !?

i agree with you - obviously as a moderator, i'm GOING to agree with you smile - but i also think that moderation should be an impartial practice, and that the rules should extend to everyone across the board. also, if rules made cannot be effectively, properly or fairly enforced, those rules should most likely be re-evaluated.
