Ok, this may seem stupid, but is Paisley Park just a studio, or did Prince used to live there too?

I'm with a bunch of you on this one. I am a Paisley regular from back in the day (not as regular as some. I remember the same people were always at the front of the line and in front of the stage every time!) Anyway I saw about 10 shows in 95, a bunch in 96, 97 on and on... All the celebrations and I remember a lot of free shows, sometimes $7 and occasionally $20. It was $100 for the Rave unto the Year 2000 video deal but I will say THAT was worth it! I'm on the DVD and I got to see Prince, Rosie, Lenny Kravitz, George Clinton, Johnny Lang etc... Who knows, maybe these shows will be magical but $50 a night after I'm already paying $75 a night for the main show which is cool because I'm going one night with wife, one with son, one with good friend. Um, anyway I'll be 40 next month, still younger than Prince yes but with a wife and child and financial responsibilites etc. so..... I think I'm gonna go to one aftershow. Probably the second night. First night I'll go with wife to concert, come home, chill. Next day I have off! I'll go check the Paisley scene btween 12-4, then go to show with friend and then have a great aftershow I hope. Last night I'm going with my 6 year old son and I'll just come home and get good sleep afterwords because....

I gotta have energy on Saturday the 19th! it is my 11th wedding anniverary and I got a bunch of stuff I gotta get readdy to party with my wife (grandma is taking the kid overnight..... well y'know!) can't be running on empty!

If it was even $25 I would think it reasonable and go maybe two nights but for $50, I'll just check one of them. Gotta at least check on for sure!!

you'd be worried about it if you were in my predicament: no money to go anywhere, save for one place, and all your friends n'such are gonna be outta the city for all of this so most of the week you'd be totally alone.

why shouldn't one be worried?

Don't feel bad, at least you are from there and in familiar environs, so if ya gotta go it alone, at least you know where you'll be going. I will be there alone and am unfamiliar with the place, so it's going to be a little akward for me.....but I am still HYPED!!

nevahmind....I just saw:

JUST ADDED:
2 keep the Musicology vibe flowin', we will be opening up Paisley Park Studios 2 the public from Noon-4pm on June 16, 17, and 18. There will be food vendors, a blow-out NPG merch sale, and a special look inside the music studios. Get ur Day Pass at The Park each day, u do not have 2 have a concert ticket or aftershow ticket 2 visit during the day. All proceeds go 2 the Love4oneanother Charity.

Let's kick off the SUMMER OF MUSICOLOGY

I wonder how much THAT'S gonna cost me. Do they think everyone just has money to burn? I was sooooo hoping to go to an aftershow, but at $50 a night? I agree with lovemachine and Dansa, I miss the old days where you could get in for a decent price. I can't afford another $50 for just an aftershow, and I was lucky enough to scrape up enough money for just one concert ticket. Blah.

I may be in on getting together with people before the Friday concert, tho. Kinda depends on the schedule of the guy going with me.

Will someone keep me posted as to whether or not the aftershow tics are sold out for the Friday show? I bet they do.. but it would still be nice to know ahead of time before driving out of our way, especially since we don't know where we are going. Thanks.

:::checked again:::

Now I'm finding stuff in my range. I really don't know if this is worth it but I think I'll be kicking myself if I don't go! wall sad

It's "just a studio"...complete with a kitchen, work-out room, sound-stage, smaller party room, offices, and game room, whole facility wired for recording anywhere at anytime.

His house is just ~2 miles away...U can decided for Urself where he "lives" when he's in town eek)

yes, but you can only get your ticket to THAT nite's after show. For instance, if you go on Thursday during the day, they wil only have tickets for the Thursday nite after show. They won't have any of the tickets yet for Friday.

Does this apply for non-NPGMC members as well? Can we go early in the day any buy any "general admission" tickets that might still be available?

It is all general admission. It was posted at the NPGMC that if there are any tickets left they will be available to the public at night. Members in line will all be let in before they will sell those tickets at the door.

Incidentally, it was also posted that the day passes will be $15. Don't think I'll be paying that myself. I know it goes to charity, but I've already been there numerous times. And I'm a broke-ass gril at the moment.
