Do a search at the club - one member gave a report on his experience with purchasing a cloud guitar. IIRC, he wasn't too impressed with the finish/workmanship, and decided to keep it as a display item rather than a "working" instrument. All orgnotes and emails requesting trades or how to acquire bootleggage will be ignored. - The ThreadKiller -

Thanks! I know the Orger "Tron" got one as a gift, and absolutely loved it. I have also read horror stories about chipping paint (right out of the box). There's an Orger, I believe his name is Scott2Freaky, who builds them - maybe check with him? Good luck!

I know that tehy arent quite the same in appearance as tehreal deal - teh fret marks are just dots and not symbols as Princes are and I think the 'carving' swirls near all the dials is different too

they are nice guitars but it couldnt be further from the one Prince uses for real, its nothing like it at all. Looks the same (apart from fret board markers) but wont sound the same

Just FYI Prince's clouds didn't always have symbols... The white cloud had dots like the black with plain neck one, the peach one had spades and one had dots, the blue angel had dots, the black one had dots another one had bat logo's, the yellow one had dots and later symbols like that electric blue one... But yeah them clouds from the NPGMC are just cheap shitty knock-offs... Neversin. O(+>NIИ<+)O

I bought a white one several years ago and the fret board has the symbols and the gold knobs and pickups. I got the $1,000 bolted neck which was less expensive than the non bolted neck version that they offer now - At one point , tey were offering both. My guess is that the cheaper one sold out and they are left with the $1,500 non bolted neck guitars now.

Unless they are custom made by the same guy that made Prince's guitars, I would imagine that everyone already knows that it is obvious that they are knock offs. I dont think NPGMC claimed that they were anything more then replicas. [This message was edited Mon Apr 12 14:00:51 2004 by VelvetSweat]

Well they once claimed that they were "exactly like the ones Prince plays", which was obvious BS, but then quickly replaced that statement with them being just replica's when people started to complain about the quality of them... As if Prince would play a shitty Schecter... Neversin. O(+>NIИ<+)O

Only an idiot is going to think they are getting a custom made guitar like a legendary rock star would get for $1500 on the internet.

I Purchased a white cloud off NPGMC about 18mths ago, when it arrived there was paint missing from both edges of the fretboard virtually it's entire length.
NPGMC paid for the return of the guitar and sent a replacement which was seized by customs as a large package had transferred from Usa-Uk, then back and back to the Uk again, Post 911 they checked the parcel and then wanted £214 pounds off me to release the guitar. I disputed that NPGMC should pay this fee on the grounds that if a quality product was shipped in the first place no-one would have incurred such charges, they refused to pay- i refused to pay. so they had the guitar returned and I had my money back. Besides the paint defect the guitar was great in sound and playability, i do wish that i still had a cloud but the whole experience was very offputting.

i purchased the blue one fortunately mine didnt have any faults and sounds great but i have seen a lot of people who have had problems with the paint finish.
but to get them to any country other than america the tax and shipping can be around £300
