Do members get good seats? Or are they obstructed by the stage set-up? Okay, SOMEone got ALL up in a rage about me posting a quote from them...and for the record, I still (correctly) say that you can copy and paste anything you want as long as you give credit.
Would the moderators rather I do what Anji used to do and post whole threads that were complete quotes, but not give any indication as to who or where the real source was? But hey, that's cool. I know it's all politics. *** So here's my VERY OWN THREAD that has nothing to do with a short piece of fish. I'm gonna post the rest of the posts that were on that thread here...I assume that's cool, right? I only posted his thread to give us a bouncing point to start the discussion and because I believe that everyone should be able to read what's in there ('specially everyone who paid for those boards!), so when I come across something I like to bring it here and discuss it with y'all. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

Um....I would seriously LOVE for you to explain this one for me...why exactly is this topic not appropriate for the Org? Hey, Mr. Snooty Snotty @ss, some of us are paid members of the NPGMC who also bought tickets for the shows, but we're not allowed in the forums. Apparently you think you're better than us? Jeesh. I've always stated that if someone wants me to remove their quote I would be happy to, out of respect...I'm not sure why you're spewing all your hateful bile at me though, as I wasn't making fun of you OR the club for that matter...just trying to get some posts on members who have seen the shows. I think the moderators should think about being fair across the board on this issue...last week one of my posts got yanked. I was posting the differences on the "new" version of TCI, and EllisDee was not a member of Housequake, so I posted (AND CREDITED, AS ALWAYS) what Chastity, one of the mods over there posted...and it got yanked with a quickness and a fury, apparently. Erm, OK, I was actually just trying to be nice, but go on witcha bad self, whoever org-noted the mods about that travesty of justice. Funny though -- that same night the SAME thing was quoted from Housequake...over at the NPGMC!! And I sure didn't see that going anywhere... Anyway. Triflin'. Just irritates me when people deign to come onto the Org to tell us not to dirty their lily white name with the filth of the Org...and then those same people barrage the mods with angry notes until one of them caves in and erroneously (in my FERVOUSLY HELD opinion) locks the thread. Fish shorty, go back to yer side of the pond if you wanna. I hope I'm sitting next to someone just a TAD less square at the concerts I'm going to. If you had been an active member of the U Tell Us forums from their conception last March, you would know that I have had probably HUNDREDS of helpful suggestions as well as constructive criticism. I'm not going to go on, because I'm no longer responding to people who think that because I am sometimes critical, I am always critical. Expand your mind! No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

I have 2 things to say:
-I'm concerned about seating as well, and wish that people who have been to shows so far would comment. and -I'm still the president and founder of The Blueangel Asslicker Association, and this thread reminds me why.

I posted a thread a few days ago at the NPGMC asking about the view from member seats. A lot of people seemed fine with having seats where you they were blocked by horn players, couldn't see Prince the whole time, or couldn't see Rhonda throughout the entire night. I don't know...to me, those sorts of seats kind of suck sweaty monkey ass. I'd rather be a few rows back and be able to see the ENTIRE show, instead of occasionally being close enough to Prince to see his pores. Dayum, it's a damn concert. If you get bad seats, you get bad seats, just brush off your shoulder and go on with life. Just be greatful you can take a hot shower and eat a decent meal. Life my azz muthafucka, dis is a bitness!!

Aw c'mon Billy.....to some of us it's obviously not just a "concert," ya know? I mean of COURSE I hear what you're saying. I absolutely realize how lucky everyone of us who posts in here are to be able to afford to buy food and shelter and have the luxury of the internet, etc. etc....
But I still think it's bunk if they ditched the shitty obstructed view seats on the members. I've never bought tickets to a concert without knowing where the seats are until I get there...so it's hard to know whether I should get REALLY PSYCHED UP about this show or whether I should kinda mellow it out so you don't get disappointed. ThassallI'msayin'. Tackam, you KNOW I love it when you lick mah ass, grrrl... CodShorty, I don't wanna grow up. Why should I grow up? Why don't YOU grow up? Yeah, heheh, or just throw up, either way. You say grow up, I say lighten up. I still say your original post was well-written and positive, and I applaud you for posting it. And once again I apologize for ruffling your feathers with the quote thing - you could have just asked me and I would have deleted it, so it wouldn't just be sitting there locked for everyone to view. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

See, right now on Ticketmaster I could buy seats in the 110 section, which would be better than the obstructed view described by that NPGMC member. And the concert's in 8 days.
If my seats are obstructed, can I like switch with those 110 seats? Seriously, I wanna SEE this thing, and I'm kinda dragging the family out, which is GREAT, but I'll feel SO assy if the seats suck. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

i'ma say this once and once only, so listen up. there are worse things in the world to worry about than people copying and pasting stuff across forums. so what if somebody thinks that somethin that another person wrote is interesting to read, therefore they copy n'paste it elsewhere? happens everyday on various forums. people honestly shouldn't be so hung up on whatever they type--the only time one should really worry about it is if folks switch their words around, not properly credit them, or use their words against them in a malicious manner. mean-spirited shit like that, y'know? i am gettin sick and fuckin tired of people complainin out loud here on this forum, "don't copy and paste my stuff!" whatever you post on this or any other forum is made public. EVERYONE can read it. also, anybody can copy and paste whatever you wish to share, and put it on other forums. don't make a big fuss out of silly crap like this and argue over it, ya'll! it's absolutely ridiculous, and a waste of your and the moderators of any public forum's time. the only thing one needs to totally remember is to give proper credit to whoever they get their information from and provide a proper link to said info. hard thing to do? no. will life on the org be a bit easier for all if this is adhered to? definitely. I think it was a charitable and respectful turn for the moderator of the original thread to lock it at the request of the person being quoted, though I also think it was ultimately unnecessary to do so.
It's like this - if you post something on the Internet, it ain't yours anymore. You can post it on your own site, paid for with your own money, and you can plaster copyrights and threats and all the legalese you want to, but ya know what? If someone wants to swipe it, they're gonna swipe it. Just to transition this into a relevant topic for this forum, take NPGMC for example. Look at the strains that site has been going through to protect their content. It hasn't always been successful and it's not always to our liking, but they make their wishes loud and clear, and back it up with those lovely cease and desist missives to lucky fans. But guess what? Shit STILL gets out there, doesn't it? Welcome to the Internet. Care for a mint? And the bottom line with what you're reading now and the forums on the Org and the forums on NPGMC and any other online forum is that they're all PUBLIC forums. You're throwing your thoughts out there, and they become part of this big weird geeky irate spammy goo that is the World Wide Web. And that's pretty much how it works. So what's the solution? Pretty simple to me: Make sure you write stuff that represents you well. Make sure you write stuff that you don't care if you find posted on catfancy.com or nakedgrannies.com or ismellreallybad.com - if there's no shame in your message, then the media in which it is presented shouldn't matter. But that's just my take on it. Again, I think it was a completely respectful act for the moderator to lock Blue's thread upon Cod's complaint (I'm assuming that's why it was locked). And again, I think that the decision to lock that thread is a matter of consideration and not an act of obligation, just as it seems more a matter of consideration and not legality to quote someone's postings on other sites. Interesting conversation, all heated messy diatribes aside....

our seats in la were great! they were not on the floor, so don't think you are guaranteed seats in the first 15 rows or even on the floor for that matter. that said, i would rather have had the seats i had (1st level, row 14) then be 14 rows back on the floor. i was able to see shit all night long. when prince was standing in areas that would have been otherwise obstructed, i still saw his sexy, tight ass!

Thanks, Sassy!!! I was lookin' for ya...
Glad you had great seats in LA...so it sounds like kind of a crap shoot then. What a surprise. Of course, this actually makes me MORE nervous, only because the markets I have seats for are MUCH smaller than LA, which would indicate I'd be more likely to sit down on the floor...and as you just said, you would rather be where you were than on the floor, in an obstructed view seat. Man I wish they could do things a little more conventionally and actually tell us what seat we're plunking our money down for!! Thanks for the input, hot stuff. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

It would seem that the difference would be that a free public member forum is where a person can join for free and post on the forum and a private membership club forum is where a person paid a membership fee in order to post on the private club forum. It would seem that Prince.org would be a free public member forum and NPGMC would be a paid private membership club forum. I guess I understand the arguments voiced about copying and pasting and then posting things from a public forum. However, I don't and can't understand the arguments about the conduct being fine of copying and pasting things from a private membership club forum where the person paid to be a member to post. It would seem that a member of the private membership club would only want what was posted to be seen and read by the other private members of club and not the general public and that's why it was posted in the club forum and not on a general public forum.

Exactly my point, Gus. Thanks! See the difference in the instances listed is MY membership could be affected by a member who is already admitted he's been banned from that forum. The NPGMC forums are not private, and are in fact the way that members communicate with the club. This is why I object so adamantly in this case. Had BlueAngel taken my similar post found on the concerts forum on this site (Dallas show recap), I have no issue with that, as I posted my opinions here. I just have no desire to lose my membership due to a member who himself is banned. Elitism is not the issue.....being a banned user co-opting a good standing members NPGMC post is. Are you trying to get me banned too? Will Prince.org do anything to get my membership re-instated? No. If for no other reason, that is why taking info from a PRIVATE board SHOULD be a problem. Funny, you can't take and post my avatar, emails or orgnotes on this site, but you can take my private posts from a private forum. Wassup with that? Sign my name to my post and it's an open email to the NPGMC....whats the difference??? Those who think differently, let your NPGMC membership be affected, then tell me I'm wrong for caring. Same as if I pay a fee for the full online Time version and posted something from an article on some discussion forum on the internet...even in THAT case, it's the standard practice, even though the source material is copyrighted. At the end of the day, I can buy any book on Prince, and still manage 2 find large *quotable* chunks online within a few key strokes. Note the word: *QUOTABLE* The nature of the internet is that it is inscestuous - it FEEDS itself much like the Ouroboros - the snake that eats its own tail to sustain its life, in an eternal cycle of renewal. Codshort, with all due respect, I get where ur coming from, but I do think that u have over-reacted on this matter, and that Blue didnt mean any bad feeling 2 come of this - he has even publicly stated as much here. Besides, the post/thread in question is now no more, so we should move on, no use crying over spilt milk. If NPGMC means as much 2 u as u say, then I think in the spirit of that, we should just move on - at the end of the day, this isnt important, u know what Im saying? It really isnt.
