HEY MAC USERS!

Don't worry about none of the directions that people including the NPGMC Moderators and the NPGMC techs are telling you to do

MORE than likely your MAC was and is just fine and set at the setting already without you having to do anything

the problem all along has been the files them selves and the techs and moderaters at the NPGMC knew that was a problem and I guess tried to divert the attention from their acctual flaws to , haveing us scurry around checking things on our MACs that didn't need checking

we all know our MACs are much more user friendly than that, and frankly I think it was decietful of them to tell us we could try it knowing full well the downloads would not work, and then further insulting giving us 'direction' to a problem they know wouldn't be fixed by thier 'directions'

my WMP player has worked well in advance of this club and still does just fine, just not with NPGMC

you a fool to think they didn't test this out before hand and not know full well before opening shop that MAC users wouldn't be able to play too.

Hmm...WMP9 works fine for me in OS 10.3.3, but that doesn't change the fact that WMP9 for Mac can't burn CDs, so the files I bought are harnessed to my Mac and I cannot legally burn a CD for myself.

Unfortunately it doesn't work for me. My Mac runs version 10.3.3 and the newest WMP9, the default browser is set to IE but everytime I am trying to download a window is popping up and telling me: Cannot open the file. Verify that the path and file name are correct and try again.

Suggestions?

Can I just get a clarification on something - Is it possible to burn these files to CD from a Mac (illegally or otherwise)?

did you read what I posted???

NOTHING is wrong with your MAC and the TECHS and MODERATERS at thge NPGMC know and knew good and well before they opened up the download site that MAC USERS COULD NOT USE THE FILES

they tried to deflect the attention from thier flaws making you look on your MAC for things to fix that DID NOT NEED TO BE FIXED

such as setting the default browser to IE that has was and is alwasy set to IE EVEN on SAFARI no matter what of the NPGMC

they just lied to you to divert your attention from thier problem to making you think it is your MACS problem WHEN IT IS NOT

they really are no good greedy MFS telling us we can try and download the music KNOWING FULL WELL IT WOULD NOT WORK NO MATTER WHAT OF THIER "DIRECTIONS"

Mac users CAN "use" the files they purchase -- I have done it. The real caveat is that you cannot burn the songs to a CD legally, because WMP9 for Mac OS X does not support CD burning.

There are ways of burning the files, but those methods break DRM laws.

DRM = Don't Restrict Much confused

I wonder what the point of using such an audience limiting file format is when it's supposed purpose (security) seems to be nothing more than smoke and mirrors?

I, also, have had no problem buying, downloading or using the files on my Mac. The inability to burn the tracks legitimately is a major strike against the system, though. I have, however, downloaded and burned the Musicology single from iTunes and can groove to it in my car...I'm not so much into "gettin' on down" sitting in front of my computer.

As fas as I'm concerned, by opting for a format that isn't fully cross-compatible they have left us no choice but to break the DRM laws.

Use Audio Hijack to record straight from WMP to AIFF or MP3. Then burn to CD or whack it in iTunes.

I think I can love with my conscience. =)
All of my hang-ups have gone. How I wish you felt the same.
