Well, then what alternative do I have then ? (no I'm not going to go to all the trouble of using virtual PC and trying to burn a cd or anything because I haven't got all day to waste)

I will of course be buying a CD but until then I'll have to find it elsewhere...

No dice for me either. I get a page in Explorer that says I've been granted the license to play the file, and to click the "play" button below. But, there was no "play" button to click. I've e-mailed NPGMC support.

sad

I got that same page as doozer too.
The thing is, when you get to the download button, Do the "save target as" option.

I did notice, however that the file has a long file name so it doesn't download the whole name. You have to re-name it and add the .wma extension. This will open it up in Windows Media player 9.

I have OS X and it worked for me.
What I don't know is how you would make an audio CD with the files.

Please test it out with the test file on the page first so you don't waste your money.
Even after that I bought one of the .77 cent singles to test it again. That's when I noticed that you had to re-name the file with the proper .wma extension.

Weird...in Year One when the club would have computers available at different parties to show the public or the VIPs what the club was about, all of the computers were Macs. In Graffiti Bridge, Prince uses a Mac.

So would it have been too much to ask for someone at NPGMC to TRY a download on a Mac first so that at the very least they could have the answers to all the various questions that come up? I mean, they are the ones who said there would be a Mac alternative.

Also...

READ THE FRICKIN' SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS!

to get it to work on a MAC:

You must have OS X
You must use IE to accept the lisence.
You must have the latest Windows Media Player 9

What I don't understand is if you don't have any of the above and/or you downloaded the test file and if failed, why in the hell would you throw money down and buy the other files?

There have been 100's of threads here and NPGMC for months about possible MAC issues, why would you buy these songs without first seeing if they would work by trying the test file?

I really think you would have a hard time with that case when the system requirements are clearly posted, you have a free test file to see if it would work on your computer first, and you had to put in your CC info to buy it anyway.

That would be like me going to a CD store to buy some records and then wanting my money back because the CD don't play on my record player. You buy it, you open it, no refunds.

I got the same page, and there was NO "Play" button to hit, but if you close Explorer, it will work now. Wierd. Try it on the test file, you'll probably see it works.

I downloaded Controversy, just to test a "real" track, and it works. I use OS X Panther.
