Problems with License

Anyone else having problems with the licenses? I downloaded Controversy and the Bataclan track, and it tells me I don't have a license for Controversy. The other track works fine.

Anyone having similar problems?

Sorry - for the first time ever I'm not buying a Prince song right away because I DESPISE Windows Media Player proprietary formats. I ALWAYS have problems with licenses...they're a huge pain in the ass. Plus, well, I gotta admit that Controversy and All The Critics Love U In Paris aren't exactly making my dick hard. Maybe if the respective full concerts were included, I would have to bite....but even then, I'm very hesitant to pay good money for a proprietary download. Seems totally wasteful to me.

Here is the page of legalese that everyone should read before buying:

The downloads may not work properly on a Mac OS.

Download Music Player:
All downloads are licensed files in Windows Media 4mat and must be played in Windows Media Player 9.0 or newer.

-----

License Restrictions:
When u purchase and download music from MUSICOLOGY, ur music files are accompanied by a license with certain restrictions. The music files are encrypted with DRM license technology 2 be sure that they are used according 2 ur license restrictions.
IMPORTANT: Make sure u mean 2 buy ur music from ur primary computer (for example: ur home computer) so that it contains ur primary license. The licenses are non-transferable. Example: U cannot buy ur music on ur home machine and then transfer ur primary license 2 ur second home computer. The computer u buy from becomes the primary computer with the primary license 4 that song. U can only copy music from ur primary machine via your primary license.

Uploading 2 a Shared Web Site Not Permitted
Ur license does not permit ur music files 2 be uploaded on2 a shared server or made available on internet web sites. Although u might be physically able 2 upload the files 2 a shared server, the music files will be rendered useless 2 anyone who downloads them because of the DRM license encryption technology.

Agree with you, but $1.50 isn't really all that is it...

Heh, okay so I'm blasting Controversy at 6:15 on a Monday morning...NOT a bad way to start your week, ladies & gentleman!!

I like this version a LOT better than the one that was being played for the longest time...you know, thte Hit 'n Run one...

This one's FUNKY....plus he does the "People Call Me Rude, I Wish We All Were Nude" chant, and it's worth $.77 for that ALONE.

WMA files still suck my ass. wink

You should be able to burn it to CD. I haven't tried yet, but you should be able to.

Yes, you can ! You need to burn it via the WMP9, then you can rip it again down to your harddisk with any MP3 Rip software wink

Yes my copy of Controversy has a broken licence (it says "Copy to CD not allowed") - Musicology tracks and Bataclan says "Copy to CD until 2104" or something similar. I emailed them on their support email.
Hopefully they will get the licence right so I can re-download it and burn it.
