Its got to be the teaming up with a ecord company again surely.

New deal would mean more promotion and financial backing which would justify the arena tours etc...and would explain why he is doing the hits again.

Could this also be a n explanation for the lack of Music on the Club site - maybe he's had to do stuff to put out as part of the new deal

Did he actually sign with Warner Brothers again? That would be a great thing for him if he did. They have done alot of great things together in the past. It would be nice to see them get the ball rolling again. Why not? Good luck.

No. The promoter is touting this as Prince's last time to perform his hits. Even this is unlikely, since he's done "final" hits tours several times in the past, and he's actually told a couple of interviewers that this isn't the case. Its just a way of selling the tour. He hasn't said he would retire after this tour (and even if he did, we've heard that before as well).

P couldn't retire if he wanted to. He's compelled to make music like most people are compelled to breathe.

Ok, I gotta ask, when did he say on previous tours that he was retiring his hits? I've seen folks here say that several times and I just don't remember that. I remember when he said he wasn't gonna tour anymore back in the 80's. I remember him saying that he wouldn't play certain songs like 1999 anymore (and I think LRC). I also remember him saying on certain tours that he would stay away from the hits on that particular tour, like with TGE tour or ONA. But I never took that to mean that he was retiring them for good.

But I just don't remember him saying in the past that he was retiring his hits for good like they are promoting now. I'm not disagreeing with you at all. It's just that so many people have here have said "oh here he goes with that again" that I feel like I must have missed something major..

Didn't Prince say he was retiring from touring when Around the World in a Day came out?

I think in pop music, "Retirement" is just another word for "hype".

Yeah he did, that "retirement" from live performing is infamous. I just don't recall him saying before that he'd never play the hits again?

Gotcha, thanks. I guess the difference here is the whole "this is your last chance to see the hits" thing?

I'm wondering where I can catch this on TV. If it's a press conference, I assume members of the press would be there. It's probably be on Celebrity Justice or ET like a week from now. I'd rather not see it there as they always have a smart-assed remark.
