member pre-sale tix just a quick thought. this morning i logged on and got pre-sale tix for the fillmore 2/15 show. in the past i have (as many others have in the past) loads of trouble. in 2002, while trying to get tix through the npgmc, the server crashed so many times it was ridiculous, prior to that, in 2001 when they did it through ticketmaster with a password, they gave out the wrong password (or ticketmaster misspelled it). this morning was smooth as silk. this makes me very happy. thanks for upgrading what ever was upgraded. i don't go to the site much because of how it loads, and the navagation, but this time it worked so beautifully well. ------------------------------------------------

I'd like to see more notice- like getting the email 3 days before the presale. And a time when the Presale ends. I hate the idea of coming home from work- checking your email to find that tickets in your city are on sale NOW and when you go purchase them, they're sold out. Socks still got butt like a leather seat...

Isn't it sad that 72 hours notice is considered ADVANCE in the world of Prince? No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

To be honest, the whole point of this is apparently to try to ensure fans get tickets instead of scalpers, and if that also includes leaving it until 72 hours before the event, then so be it, albeit that for some people in the US it makes travelling to and attending the event a logistical nightmare.ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. New member here w/ a related question?
Should I be getting all emails for all shows around the country. I didn't get anything for the SF shows, and I'm not sure who to contact. Send a reponse to the email they first sent confirming my membership, and got NO response.

Yes, you "should" have gotten emails about the SF show, but that doesn't mean that you actually did, or that you will for any shows in your area or in other areas for that matter. And hell, if you DO get an email, chances are it'll be after tickets are sold out anyway.

Yeah, but in addition to making it logistically (and I might add FINANCIALLY...not everyone has enough cash lying around to order a camel at 3 a.m. if you know what I mean) nightmarish for the REAL fans to attend by giving such short notice, you're also making it COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE for a large portion of those fans who don't happen to be online the second that the "announcement" is made. And where is the announcement made, anyway? There are a lot of us who have been denied access to the forums...so how are we supposed to find out? As far as I'm concerned it has NOTHING to do with scalpers...they get their tickets ANYway. It has more to do with Prince not liking to commit to dates than anything else. Oh, and the fact that the club could give 2 purple shits about actually hooking up their members with anything. Prove me wrong Sam, you pathetic excuse. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

=== this has not been my experience. from my above post, i have definitely had problems with the ease of getting tix through the club, but was eventually able to get them, and once obtained, the premium seating and access to free aftershows, with reserved space in front worked extremely well, surprisingly so. much better than i had expected. ------------------------------------------------

These are last minute quick warm up gigs for the up coming tour. Take it for what it is. Some of these venues are so small that it does not matter how much notice is given, there are going to be many who are left out. The fillmore holds only 1,200 and there were people from Hawaii, New York, LA, Sacramento, etc., not to mention from the Bay Area itself. Prince could have litereally played 15 shows there and still not satisfied all the demand. When the "real" tour starts in bigger venues, I'm sure there is going to be much more notice. I live in Pennsylvania.
Tickets go on sale this Saturday for the Prince/Musicology Tour at a venue relatively close to me. I didn't learn of it thru NPGMC. I heard about it here on prince.org. NPGMC should be the source for tour info. No matter how small the venue the info should be there. Not asking for club discounts or early tickets - just info. They really fail on this point.
