C-Note Greetings to all,

It wasn't really a project.
It was 5 different recordings from soundchecks - two from Copenhagen (Copenhagen and Empty Room) and three from Japan (Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka). The four tracks named after the venue of the performance are instrumental. 'Empty Room', a long-standing outtake had been played live for the first time at the 2002 Celebration, and was introduced on the ONA tour in London, October 2002. 'Copenhagen' was played as part of a medley with a Miles Davis composition and was made available very briefly to a few NPGMC members (as an experiment) in late 2002. The edited version together with the other 4 tracks were made available at the beginning of 2003 to NPGMC 2002 members. Members received an email with a link to one of the tracks. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Club members figured the C-Note combo of the first letters was Prince's response to all the whining that they hadn't gotten enough that year for their $100 membership fee. Pretty funny.

Personally, I think it was just a co-incidence that, put in a particular order, the first letters spelled out CNOTE. If not, then it meant that Prince was taking the piss out of his customers and let's face it, that's not a wise idea when you're in business! The only reason members got Xpectation and C-Note was because of the totally justified complaints about NPGMC 2002. Prince realised (either voluntarily or because of legal implications) that promising members certain CDs (see tourbook for that year) and not delivering those said CDs wasn't good business! Actually, not pretty funny at all and rather sad.

And although the NPGMC refer to the live/rehearsal downloads as 'C-Note' now (see the predictably non-appearing Chocolate Invasion), they've called them that purely because of how the 'fams' have labelled it.

Love him??? It's getting harder and harder to 'love' someone who seems to spend his entire time ripping-off and alienating his fans!

There were two Copenhagen tracks if I recal. A longer version was available for a limited time, the shorter one was released after. Happy is he who finds out the causes for things.Virgil (70-19 BC). Virgil was such a lying bastard!

I don't remember there being any info from the club about these tracks.. you say it was in the email?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
No, the email only included the links, with no information whatsoever. The club never gives any information about any of the tracks it has downloaded...it makes it much more "fun" and "mysterious" that way.
Plus it's a lot easier on them that way. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

I'm uploading to alt.binaries.multimedia.prince And how much should we charge 4 that?
If u would prefer it we could just not do this at all. NPGMC, money well spent! Common sense WILL get moderated with extreme prejudice!
