Army called to south Dublin hoax

January 25, 2004

(14:59) The Army bomb disposal unit was called to the Jehovah Witness Hall at Monkstown Farm in south Dublin at around 10.30am this morning.

The call-out came after a device was discovered outside the premises.

Gardaí (Irish police) sealed off the area and an examination of the device was carried out.

It has since been described as an elaborate hoax and the army has now left the scene.

Gardaí are investigating the incident.
