So what can we expect from the Club at the end of the year

Remember last year's frenzy about the Club? ONA Live distribution and the discussion about it?

I'm asking only because this year's end is very quiet - apart from the Hawaii concerts, there's nothing the Club offers.

The setback is that in response to the last year's criticism we received Xpectation and C-Note. lol This year it doesn't seem likely. doh!

What do you think?

not to mention th eprice of the club was only $25 - don't get your hopes up. A few downloads is the most I am expecting... if that..
Hard to believe I've been on the org for over 25 years now!

There will be nothing i suppose.
Prince doesn't celebrate anything anymore, right?
Do Jehova's Witnesses celebrate X-mas? New year?
And by the way, the club only opened up 9 months ago? so that's not a full year..

I know we shouldn't expect anything, but still, previous
years, we got about 5 albums worth of material for $100-

So it would be very nice if they would put the two songs
we got this far up in very high quality at the end of the
year and complement them with 6 or 7 other tracks to form
an entire new album.

It would be so easy. Dude records tunes a few a week so
it wouldn't set him back nothing. If they don't hand out
anything at the end of the year I doubt anyone will join
next year. What would be the point?

Tracking down the odd 1 or 2 songs on fileshare or thru
alternative channels isn't really hard so that's not an
avid reason to join the club anymore.

PS: Before I start a flamewar, I'm not saying that I feel
I am somehow entitled to new material. All I'm saying is
it would be a very nice present for the end of the year
if we were to get a handfull of tunes that would form a
new "album" of sorts. Something like C-Note last year.

Well, if the club is going to run itself fairly then the year doesnt end until April 04...but then when have they ever done what they are meant to?

As for what you can expect...the same as the vast majority have got from the club this year...sweet FA,Nothing,Zip,Zilch!!!

Sure some Aussies got some gigs and some people got the chance to pay for NEWS before it was available in the shops (notice I say pay for ...not receive).

The weakest and most 'weasel-out of it' club so far I think...still Im interested to see what they can plot for year 4...surely the only option is to take your money and dissappear.

I guess you belong to a different club than me then, cos I never received anything "in the form of Reflection", dropped or otherwise!

undulatingacrobat prolly means Xpectation, which it seemed to me was only released after almost everybody let it be known that delivering one album while promising 4 when we forked over our 100 bucks was a little bit steep, even for our beloved Prince

That's cute how you try to paint that picture.

If you have a complaint about service/product, and the company makes an effort to correct the problem, how is that egg on your face?

Read the NPGMC BBB Report for an impartial survey of it all.

They're flaky about releasing stuff. They quit collecting money up front for these endeavors. So there's less obligation on their part.

Plus they offered some very generous previews of his two new releases this year, NEWS in its entirety and some huge clips from the dvd. So if you bought either, you had a good idea of if you were gonna like it or not before buying it.

Her I go again like a stuck record...but Imust have been one of teh haters who didnt have egg on my face because, just to prove I was right, I never received Xpectation or the links to download it.

I guess I'll just carry on being a hater until Prince/NPGMC stop rewriting calendars so that a year only lasts for as long as they want it to...or until teh music club has music - Im not sure which will happen first.

Still expect nothing and your expectation shall be fulfilled.

The club figures we will join again regardless! They feel as though $25 is not much and I guess they are right, in a way. From the stand point of Prince, if 3 times as many people joined (at $25) and he was giving in previous years a lot of music for $100, well for $75 he gave a couple new songs. My opinion is we all do not join again and wait and see what the club will offer. If you feel like you got what you deserved go ahead and join again, just remember all this is based upon trust and you will get your moneys worth and you'll pay in advance. I will wait and see what they will offer, until then I will continue to explore the other world of music in the world. To some maybe those two songs, were worth the $25 and the videos also, to me I could have bought the dvd and been happy with that. Ohh, well, Year 1 and 2 rocked and I'm thankful for those years, IMO! I think the trend of artists wanting $$$ for meet and greets etc..will esculate and do not believe in the concept of paying to shake someones hand(burned out, oldies cashing in on us cause we make that money now to dispose, get off your asses and generate something for the future IMO, promote the stuff to the new generation, the kids that can't afford to pay $150 a tix..etc.), so I don't know, I'll guess we will see what happend to the NPG. The current religy beliefs restrict him from cursin' but tables turned and most fans are asking WTF!!! HAPPY NEW YEARS GUYS AND GALS!
