npgmusicclub:IS it worth the membership.

Before I try it out, does anyone already have it?
What's there? Is it worth 25$ ?

Its great to get 1st choice ticket purchase and seats.

$25 isn't much though. Its worth it for sure if you plan on attending his concerts.

If you're joining for the concert benefits, it would be a lot smarter to wait until he announces some dates.

We're talking of $25,for God´s sake.

I'm shocked sometimes to read here how people has just bought the complete season of a TV series omg and can´t wait for next week's releases.

-Did you hear that? Eurythmics are releasing their complete back catalogue remastered
- LOL I'm gonna be spending big money.Just bought David bowie Box Set.
-I like it but what about Bjork 5 DVD's plus Live albums especial edition ?

This is just an example but , come on, it's $25.sigh

Sure. But the way the mods and (most) other members are annoying isn't even worth it if you were GIVEN $25. The past months I learned to avoid the forums. Thank God. Everytime I got there I felt an overwhelming rage growing in me.

The $25 is ONLY worth it for:

- concerts (great, I'm living in Europe - quite some distance to go to Australia, Hong Kong & Hawaii)
- the uncertain, possible & eventual opportunity to get exclusive retail (hasn't happened yet - please remember MusicToday is accessible from outside the club, albeit with higher prices)
- those two exclusive songs of which one was in bad quality (96kbps, mono) and the other (Reflection) I don't like.

If someone is to mention those *great* video "downloads"... I'm in it for the music, not the videos.

yes, but at least you actually get something when you go to the wrecka stow and buy something. at the club, you spend 25 bucks just to have the privelage if spending more. there are many artists who have websites that are free to access and THEN, if you want merchandise, you can spend the cash. if i spend 25 bucks on a concert ticket, box set or cd or tv series, at least i know i will get something out of them. the club is too 'iffy'.

if you have the time to digest and uncrypt those goofy messages, by all means, have a blast.

so, i guess what i'm shocked about is the willingness to which people will hand over their cash. as if it is somehow deserved before any reason is given. but whatever...its not my money.

but when someone asks for an opinion, who are you to question those opinions? just state yours and move on.

It was well worth it with Y1 and Y2, this Y was a little more shaky. I you were near the screening of the video or near any of the shows I suppose you would get your moneys worth. I'm personally sick of the live experience. If there is no cds or downloads next year its not worth it to me. So I would check here and see what people are saying before I decide to join. If Prince does not pull the plug on it..ohh it would be all our fault for even thinking maybe we got fucked over this year!

OK...

I'll C U at the concert then.

I admit that 2003 wasn't the greatest, but it is indeed worth it, especially when he hits the US again, which is soon.

can all u 'northern hemisphere plebs' hear yourselves...4 f-cks sake...u had last year 4 concert benefits...I have been a member 4 all the years so far (and I am in new zealand) and finally he tours downunder...he didn't bother with New Zealand but I went 2 aussie (sydney) anyway...had a fantastic time and can't wait 2 pay back the Visa (not)...but 4 the 1st 2 years it cost me US$100 each year (and the NZ $ is worth half that - so in our currency it cost me just under NZ$200 each year) and I never got an opportunity 2 C him live ...finally this year he came downunder and it cost me NZ$50 2 join up...bonus...except when u add in the airfares, accommodation etc etc...) but 4 gods sake - u guys have gotten this year friggin cheap considering u r getting the same perks as what I got in the previous years 4 a hell of a lot more that US$25...)
I guess all I am saying is quit yr friggin whinging... so u didn't get a concert this year...well u didn't fork out a lot of dosh either so think yourselves lucky... it cost me a lot more in previous years 4 the same...a full new CD or more mp3s should have happened this year 4 sure...but they didn't (not yet anyway - but the year ain't up yet...he might surprise us...)
I agree 4 $25 there shoulda been more...but at the end of the day...its not that much $$$ is it...we got a site that takes 4ever 2 load...but I think the idea of the club is a good 1...maybe he should cut out the PP's wages...and use that $$$ 2 deliver more music...if i wanna talk Prince and music I come 2 the org...the NPGMC forums r a waste of time...full of 2 many 'believers and drones...I always thought P was about freedom...guess he has chosen not 2 b truly free now...goddam religions!
ok rant over now...think of me next year when the price of the club goes back up 2 $100, he tours the US and Europe - and all I'll get will b an overpriced CD or 2...or maybe an extra mp3 smile but I am happy with this year...so sue me!

Hi this is brneyes007 and I just recently joined a couple of days ago. I have yet found out the purpose of the fan club because I've only accessed the tour of Paisley Park and the retail part. I remember the club from last year where it had news and articles about Prince. I not going to pass judgment yet because my computer at work doesnt allow me to access certain things like having a flash plug so I can't see certain things. Just like today I've been unable to logg on to the npgmusicclub. I'll say I like it because I'm a Prince fan and I'll give it a chance to see what it offers. So I would join just to have that upper hand that others may not have especially when it come to performances and free music! I hope I kinda cleared it up for you.

well personally I think it is worth it, I have been a Prince fan ever since I can remember. It's only $25.00. I would like to join but my whole entire family has a problem with it. I don't care if Prince is a JW, I just love his music and everything that is related to it. But personaly, i would say when he is done with his career he would have me converted to a JW from a Baptist.

No... it's NOT worth the membership, it really has very little to offer and frankly is one of the worst designed web sites on the planet, I'm not only referring to the tiresome appearance but the navigation is appalling and not accessible to users with specific needs, e.g. visually impaired. Support is based on user character analysis and religious subscription. They really do not appear to be very professional at all and thrive on obscurities and bigotry. It's a shame.

Some members say it IS worth it just for the Backstage Pass and Ticket offers, but how often does Prince come to a venue near you?

I regret joining, there's not even a way to un-join and get a refund. See also Mac OSX Membership
