Mac OSX Membership

mac
I joined NPGMC this morning. I'm a Mac OS X 10.2.8 user and using Safari the NPG Music Club site is extremely crunchy and well... unusable.

I had more success with Mozilla.

Any other Mac NPGMC members got some tips or feedback about the club?

Hi fellow Mac users -- good to see ya in one thread! smile

I had troubles accessing the club in OSX 10.2 - 10.2.8 using Safari, but after upgrading to OSX 10.3 and getting the latest version of Safari, the site works fine. I, too, used IE when I was using OSX 10.2.x.

OSX 10.3 is worth the price to upgrade, BTW!

mac Mm... yeah, now I'm asking myself, 'Why?'

Apart from the OSX hassles (thanks to all of you who recommended Panther update by the way, keep the OSX advice coming) the NPGMC site is a mess. Once you've seen the pretty visuals, they begin to wear a bit thin on revisits and the navigation is very annoying and obscure.
  • Do the web designers have any knowledge of accessibility issues? For example, can a visually impaired person navigate the site?
  • There is very little support for members.
  • The CONFERENCE has crashed on me 3 times. I have not experienced this on any other web page, and I surf A LOT, and never experienced this sort of behaviour before, not once.
  • Why do I have to enter my login and password 3 times to enter the CONFERENCE? Seems trite and pointless.
  • I really would prefer a more transparent site that works, nice attempt at artiness, but it needs to be functional and less static.
There are some nice ideas, but it's just too static. Is the membership for 12 months from the date of signing? There was no clear statement about what I get for the fee besides a login and password. Got a feeling I'm going to rant on about this NPGMC site more later.

Still got problems, I've tried the browsers: Safari, Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Firebird, Netscape, Opera, iCab - all latest versions. All the system software, including JAVA is updated for OSX 10.2.8

I can log onto the Conference, (logging on twice each time !?) but then I get the spinning system busy spinning wheel. So I wait to see if it straightens itself out but then after 10 minutes, Force Quit.

Have managed to Send one message in Conference using IE, then the spinning wheel appears, the application hangs.

Think the feeling I'm having is called dispondency.

OK, things work a bit better now. Must have been teething problems. I've joined now, so just have to see how this NPGMC thing pans out. The chat is kinda cleeky, but I put me penneth in.

Noone knows at this point ... did you find the forum yet? Similar inquiries there have been answered with a firm "we don't count time, y r u?"

Apologies if I seemed to rant... perhaps I did go over the top. Thanks for the warning too. I am expressing genuine concerns.
