For those that were members last year and passed this year...

...any regrets?

Is there ONE person who passed, even at the lower price, and regrets doing so?

Me: I passed, and from what I'm hearing, I'm glad I did.

Too bad.

Yeah, the burden of that $25 has almost killed my entire budget. Ohh, I dunno! Q: will you join next year if the fee is $100??? How about $200???

well, not really, $25 dollars wasnt too big of a loss.. It was worth a shot at perhaps bein a good year of music at low cost, or heck, I would have even bought new cd's including fee.. if there was..

Whats silly about this whole damn club is.. He could be producing 10's and 20's of EP's a year, and making it a limited edition type thing each year, at around 6 or 7 dollars a piece, rackin in the revenue he loves so much...

oh well, at least Ben Folds knows how to please his fans.. dont believe me? www.benfolds.com U dont even have to be a member to get the ep'ssmile

and some are even autographed..

i'm not disappointed at the cost or the products offered (or lack thereof) just with how this year's club has been run. its like a small communist system over there. i do think its a strange idea to charge people just to access your site, especially when you are not such a commercial success and you need to rely on people to search you out. but that's neither here nor there.

in hindsight, i would not have joined this year as there haven't been any perks for me. the stuff in the reflection room i already have. i'm not interested in the dvd. news was available elsewhere. and that was it, right? oh well, at least this year provided some funny antics!

I was a member last year. After that debacle, I swore, I'd never join again. Thus far, I have not & don't regret my decision. It's not worth it.

$25 may be less than $100, but it's $25 in my purse rather than Prince's.

I don't plan on joining anytime soon. Not because $25 is a lot of money, but because I'm not into supporting the religous and political goings on over there. If it becomes about MUSIC again and a little less like a church passing judgement (and the collection plate), I might take another look at it.

25$ is not too much, but for now we've just got some videos and 1 unreleased song. I expected a lot more, I hope maybe before the end of the year we can get some recordings from the Australian shows, at least some extract fom the soundcheck
cheers

I spent the $25 this year. I haven't seen any return on that investment yet. However, I'd quickly piss away $25 in a pub without noticing, so I'm not heartbroken over it.

Still, I'm not sure I'd go back next year. As far as premium-content subscription based sites go, NPGMC is pretty light in terms of what it actually provides.

pretty light i agree. but no return? what about reflection: the first "new" prince song in what seems like ages that is actually a conventionally structured pop tune. i downloaded it and made a CD, so based on that alone, i consider the $25.00 well spent.
prince is xpensive, but damn, it's PRINCE! people can go on and on about how well ben folds treats his fans or about how cool david bowie's or bjork's sites are, but come on, u gotta admit: nothing compares to prince. there are tons of great artists on the planet, i'm a fan of many other than prince, but i'd take one song by our little purple friend over a whole collection from anyone else on any given day.

considering how much groovier the club website is this year i'm not sorry i joined

but i don't think the site should be off-limits to those who don't join, because its purpose is to attract fans/customers? maybe certain areas should be pay only - like the chat, boards etc. but the gen. pub. should be able to go to the site to check out what's going on.

oh well, it's a work in progress i s'pose
