US NPGMC members - Question

What was the difference in price for a ONAL ticket between being a member and buying a ticket from a ticket office?

Did your concert ticket cost more to be a member and for that u got extras (like soundcheck performance)

Or, because u were members, U're tickets were cheaper than the general public's tickets, and u got the soundcheck and extras all the same?

My memory sucks, so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I remember - it was the same price, but not only do you get the soundcheck/aftershow perks, but you get first dibs for the front section.

That is what is was. And that is why it was well worth the $125 that we paid in LA last year. I saw a soundcheck, concert, and aftershow from the front row for that price and I paid no bogus service charge that regular ticket buyers paid.

The ticket was $125 either way. However, starting with the Atlanta shows only members who purchased their tickets through the NPGMC could access the soundcheck and aftershow (free of charge). In other words, if you were a member who bought a $125 ticket from Ticketmaster you forfeited your rights to the club advantages.

I got kinda fucked with the presale. When I joined year 1, the tour was cancelled before it came to my area.

Then right during the last few days of my membership, tickets went on sale for the ONA tour. I recieved an email with the password for the presale, so I was able to get the tickets.

HOWEVER, they wouldnt let me into the rehersal unless I joined year two. I asked NPGMC like a day before why I hadn't recieved any info about getting into the rehersal and they told me I Needed to re-join for it.

And to make matters worse, there were at least 10 rows of non members in front of me at the show, so I really didnt get first dibs on the seats.

But from other reports on here, alot of these problems were worked out by the end of the tour.

Here in NYC, the best seats in the house were $150 for club members and for non-members who bought them after the presale. There were several rows set aside for NPGMC members, but right behind them were the more sane members of NYC and the tri-state area who attended the show. There were some non-members who got in for the soundcheck.

As for club members not having to pay a "bogus service charge," that was not the case across the board.

That hadn't ironed out the bugs for the Chicago shows so my seats sucked for both nights, but I got to go to a soundcheck and got into both afterparties for free, which was cool because he didn't perform at either.

And didn't you just love the intentional/unintentional clumsiness/cynicism of his singing "join the club" during "Anna Stesia", one of his most religious songs? "God is love/Love is God ... Gimme yo ' money/Join my club/A hundred bucks/You sorry cheap seat fucks".
