What is the problem with NPGMC this time?

Here are 3 new videos - one which I never saw before - in the NPGMC. I know there are people who are still unsatisfied so what are the problems this time (other than the tired complaint of the broke ass fan about nothing being worth the $25)?

I dont really say its a "Problem", but I wish they would have kept on with some mp3's.. perhaps like the year began with Reflections.. That was an excellent Idea.. but thats just me.. I am in it for the music (Audio)\

but videos are cool if thats your thing.

Nothings really wrong with the NPGMC although, if you do have problems with it (as I REALLY did in years 1 and 2) I doubt that 3 videos (one of which is Chaka Khan) is going to make you change your mind - and I trully hope that Prince doesnt think it will either.

$25 isn't much money, and I think most fans realize that they have already gotten what they paid for. But, I think the main reason why people complain is becuase there is a sense that Prince COULD be doing so much more than he's doing with the club, and that is where the frustration is coming from.

When a fan can find out more information about Prince and what is currently going on with Prince from an unofficial fan site rather than the official fan site, then that in itself posses a problem.

When a fan can get more Prince music from a bootlegger than from Prince himself when Prince is supposed to be free, then that is another problem.

When fans can't be truthful about their feelings and speak their minds with constructive criticism, even with a sense of respect towards Prince without being censored - then that is yet another problem.

So if you want to know why there always seems to be complaints and sense of frustration, I think what I've described is the heart of the problem.

I loved the $100 idea and I hate this version.

I must admit that I prefer the $100 version purely for the fact that Prince HAD to do something even if it wasnt new material some of the time - with this version he can sit on his ass, hiding behing the 'donation thing' and do nothing.

Im kind of in 2 minds - yes we have $25 worth of stuff probably but you have to wonder, this is as direct as Prince can get to the fans..its his idea of interaction and the only way he can directly show his appreciation to his fan base, wouldnt YOU do something more than the bare minimum for you fans or would you just do $25 which,by everyones oppinion (good and bad) it isnt a lot

Question2003

There is no problem on my part I'm very
satisfied with NPGMC and have gotten more
than my $25 worth.

You have your choice of making the site what you
want for your money.

I enjoy everything on NPGMC. I love the interaction
the chat, watching the video's going to the Vaults,
going to the reflection room and playing with the
mixer. Watching Chaka, Thieves in the Temple and
I like it there was special for me. Mainly Thieves.

They put more things in retail store and we got
NEWS and the DVD.

I'm a satisfied customer.

Thanks Prince for the NPGMC. I don't what I'm going
to with you. Your music club is the best and love the
web site. yes nod

Well, the CHaka video IS a {PRince production and song and we did get the Jam of the Year video as well as the Reflection mp3. THere were other rare cuts offered I think. I saw a remix in that reflection pool but I didnt bother getting it because - as a real fan - I already had all that stuff.

And I think when the tour starts and we get the first crack at those special seats, it will really surpass the meager $25

Thts one way of looking at it but considering there has been an entire album and DVD released along with the items offered directly from the site this year, I would say that even NPGMC is concerned with over exposure - such as WB was. THere can even be too much given out too frequently to hard core fans like MPGNC members as well

You're not supposed to download the videos. They're intended to be viewed while logged on to the club. Naughty fam!

And your point of view is noted. But, within the context of how you raised the question with a sort of a "how do you like them apples!" kind of attitude, then I think you have to admit that what you are saying in response the issues I've raised makes your point of view that of an apologist.

Overexposure would be a concern if Prince was getting his songs and videos played on radio and TV every hour on the hour. But when you have an established and devout following of fans the way that Prince does, then I think what you're saying is just an excuse or a way to justify the unknown.

Prince is free to do whatever he wants and whenever he wants as far as his music is concerned. And I for one am glad that he is able to do so. But all I'm saying is that even though Prince.org may have more than it's fair share of negativity, sometimes there are legitmate reasons to complain.

And for what it's worth, I personally feel that the NPGMC has given me what it said it would give for the $25 I paid. Do I wish there was more, though? Yes, absolutely. So with that being said, I can still relate to the sense of frustration that I think many fans feel concerning the club as I said in my earlier post.

LAMONT - Thats what I meant by I had probelms in years 1 and 2...last year I get dead excited about a crack at those special seats only for soemthing to go wrong whilst ordering and for my membership details to be unknown...they came back after it was sold out. I was really disapointed but got over the upset...until Prince had teh front rows singing something about joining teh club if you want good seats. I , and other $100 paying NPGMC memebers, were not best pleased
