if this is something new for "prince" then would it be better not to show such a blantant form of discrimination towards a group of people and just leave that part of peoples lives to there private quarters... and if its not new for "prince" then has he not lied and cheated people out of feeling some sort of comfort in knowning that there was someone on there side not to mention the false representation of himself just for the mighty dollar. And for those of u who don't know The gay community has a very strong power in spending expecially if it towards something they feel shows them any love or understanding.
rember back in the day noone was as understanding as prince.

what do u think would happen if in the gay community they found out that Prince via THE NPGMC was preaching that gays were to be abomished in hell.

i would imagine it would be a disaster for him. it'd be one thing if he had always preached that. but to embrace it and then turn on it would be disasterous to him. especially since he has many ga fans and really can't afford to lose any more fans than he already has.

LOL!! You are probaby right!! I only spoke to Prince for a matter of a couple of minutes and w/in those minutes he was throwing it at me. Told me I needed to look in the Bible about what it says about tatoos and piercings...my immediate thought was to tell him to look in the Bible about what it says about divorce and adultry but I didn't want the convo to come to a complete hault and honestly I didn't want to be offensive. So instead I went on with "Welll you have piercings don't ya, lol"

it just hurt my feelings a bit to think that finally when there is a place where we can come together, after all this time, where we can commune with oneanother with love4oneanother that we would be treated with such disrespect with an un loving like manner. I mean my God we get that just about everywere else in the world. does that mean that also in The NPG we have to be met with "this is right and U are wrong" type of mentallity. If its a church then say this is a church and i will come only on sundays but if its a music club.. then BE FREE... My goodness Prince fought for FREEDOM for 7 years, and not only did he fight for freedom during those years but didn't we also fight along with him during those years. If one is free does it mean that that ONE is free and those who fought with him remain in a inslaved type situation. not being able to express one sexuality freely without the the tall tells of being banished to hell and its fire for being morally corrupt, i thought that this was what freedom is all about. not just sexual freedom but Freedom over all. and the fact that they always say that Prince is grown up now... Wasn't prince grown up when he wrote AnaSteisa, The Cross, LoveSexy, was he not grown up when he wrote Purple Rain, when he wrote the song FREE. Prince has always pretty much known what he was doing, in his messages and else where. U cant just say he is grown up now and he wasn't then because that just makes us all look like idoits and it is an insults to our intellegents.

Ok, what exactly are you referring to? I see alot of assumptions in your post about what Prince believes about homosexuality without much actual evidence. Just curious.

I see. Well you know what I think about the PP'ers personal opinions. They are free to have them as long as they don't stifle mine.

Just to add my blathering to the mix, one of the things that upset me the most about my experience with the club this year(and increasingly about some of Prince's lyrics from, say '98 on, starting with The War) was the fact that intelligent posts that were deemed critical were deleted, while idiotic, homophobic posts were routinely left up.

Would anyone argue at this point that Prince isn't at the very least following the basic tenets of JW doctrine? When I saw him in concert last year, he said he had just come from Kingdom Hall. On the Watchtower website, homosexuality is listed under "Lesson 10- Practices That God Hates." Even when I was being raised in a fucked-up Roman Catholic church, I don't think we ever talked about God hating anything.

Here's an excerpt from another propaganda piece, ahem...I mean article on their site, titled "Who Is To Blame? You Or Your Genes?":

An Encouraging Experience

"When I was a young boy in boarding school, I got involved in homosexual practices, although I never thought of myself as being a homosexual. My parents were divorced, and I craved the parental affection that I never received. After finishing school, I did compulsory military service. There was a group of homosexuals in the barracks next to mine. I became envious of their life-style, so I started associating with them. After associating with them for a year, I began to think of myself as a homosexual. 'This is the way I am,' I reasoned, 'and I can do nothing about it.'

I started learning the lingo and going to gay clubs, where drugs and alcohol were freely available. Although outwardly it all seemed very exciting and appealing, it was actually sickening. Deep down I sensed that this kind of relationship was unnatural and had no future.

In a small town, I came across a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses while the meeting was on. I went in and listened to the talk, which dealt with future Paradise conditions. Afterward I met some of the Witnesses and was invited to an assembly. I went, and that was a revelation to meā€”seeing happy families worshiping together. I started to study the Bible with the Witnesses.

Although it was a struggle for me, I started to apply what I was learning from the Bible. I was able to break free from all my unclean practices. After studying for 14 months, I dedicated my life to Jehovah and was baptized. For the first time in my life, I had real friends. I have been able to help others learn the truth from the Bible, and I now serve as a ministerial servant in the Christian congregation. Jehovah has truly blessed me."

(...)
rolleyes err mad someone has to open up P's eyes this is pure crap propaganda of a true cult

I would hope Prince & the NPGMC are not against homosexuals, but the faith he apparently follows is not to big on it. I can only imagine how many Gay friends Prince has from over the years...He must still have a few of them left in his circle?

Does he have friends? I always got the impression from his lyrics that he was very lonely. You hear from celebrities who met him but never from celebrities who were his friend. He has collaborators and employees. No wonder the poor soul has taken solace in some whacked out religion.

Anyone remember the lyrics of "My Computer"?
"I can count my friends with a piecer ... one ... two."

So, Larry is one, maybe the other is gay ...???
