Cloud Guitars AWOL from retail section!

I was planning on getting one as soon as I won the lottery, which is bound to happen any day now sad Seriously, it has goon missing, hasn't it? Strange. Though I imagine they didn't sell them by shiploads...

Apparently it is a cheap copy noy made the same atall
It is not a neck through design has no active EMG pickups and is made out of lower grade meterials.. Sad i know but just wanted to warn you.

I'll bet! Did you buy it through the club? Oh and yeah I know that some specifications are different. What I'm really curious about is the fingerboard: is it maple (basically the whole neck and fingerboard are made out of one piece of wood), or is it rosewood (a seperate slab of wood)?? (sorry 'bout the probably redundant explanation but I don't know for sure if you're a guitarist or a collector so...)

Who the fuck needs a real cloud guitar like Prince? ONly Prince needs a real cloud guitar and he hardly plays it anymore. Damn, motherfuckers HAVE to bad mouth every fucking thing - never satisfied with anything. It is a replica - thats all. If you dont want it or think its cheap, get off your broke ass and have a "real" one made.

Well, it is a fact that the Cloud-replica is too expensive. If one examines its
specifications, a price of 750 dollars is reasonable. If you have the 1500
dollars, and pop in another 500 bucks, someone can build you the 'real' thing.

This of course, if the objective is buying the guitar to actively play it.
That is another discussion, though...

As a musician, I look for a guitar that actually plays nice, its not a fucking ornament.

I'm a huge guitar fanatic and have spent more time and money on guitars, guitar books, effects and amps in my life probably than on anything. But I'll tell you this: if you put it through 6 or 7 Boss pedals, all set pretty heavily, the subtleties of a guitar's sound get pretty much lost. When I turn on all my effects for a P-style sound, there IS a difference between my maple fingerboard, ash body and single coils tele and my les Paul, but it's not exactly huge. For instance, a setup like this will give you near infinite sustain on any guitar. So the neck-through design vs the bolt-on neck is not really an issue then. I'll bet the replica and some boss stompboxes wil get you close enough for non-musicians not to hear the difference. Okay, so what's left then is the clean sound. But I don't really like a clean REAL cloud either. Kinda tinny in a non-cool way. I wouldn't want one as my main guitar. But yeah, if I could afford one next to my 'serious'gear, it would be really fun to have I guess.

Then I would have my replica made by someone else.smile

You are right, but it is not an excuse for delivering a sub-par product - ever.

Of course you can make any guitar sound like any guitar you want it to sound
like... but that's not the issue. That would just be taking weight off the
guitar when it comes to its share in creating a tone.

In my humble opinion, one can expect more from a replica that is that heavy on
your wallet.

Yeah right... Multiply that amount by 10 and then you have the "real deal" with the "Prince finish"...

2000 dollars... ten times... 20.000 dollars... yeah right razz

2000 dollars might be a little too low, but 20.000 is about 6 times too much.
