There was nothing wrong with the audience, this was by far one of his best "main shows". I was there in the 4th row & the audience was all over it. Remember your basically watching a third of the show on the dvd which as good as it is doesn't accurately represent the show (Power Fantastic, Days Of Wild, etc. so on & so forth)

Oh my goodness...Power Fantastic. I would have loved to have heard that.

4 me, hearing the Rave dvd and The Aladdin dvd, it seems that American audiences are a lot more reserved and quieter than the European audiences. Manchester 8th Oct'2002 was manic!

No I think it's more like he hadn't toured Europe in four years! + Vegas was slammin' and full of energy. Keep in mind many in the Club had had a rather busy Prince year as well but still trucked it out to Vegas for the finale!

Trust me the crowd had Alot of Energy and that show was really Hot. It was one of the best shows from the ONA tour. Maybe you didn't feel it from watching the DVD ,but if you were there you would have Known it! Prince was Really Fantastic and the aftershow at Studio 54 was So Wonderful. Oh,My God! I gave my review at like 6:30 in the morning after partying until Studio closed. It was 100 x better than N.Y. and N.Y. was pretty Amazing.

The audience might have been not as loud that night, I don't know, but it's more the way the audio for the DVD is recorded, I think. The ONA Live album sounds similar.

If he had recorded European shows the same way, I think they would sound similar.

This is because of the way the shows were recorded. What you're hearing is actually the house PA mix (with possible overdubs). The audience you do hear is just being picked up by the stage mics. No seperate mix, with audience mics, was done for ONA Live (both CD and DVD) just a DAT tape that was recording straight from the FOH soundboard. This is also the reason why the DVD has no 5.1 audio.

Frank has the answer nod I was there & the crowd was loud, VERY into it. But Prince leaves so little crowd noise in his live recordings it makes the show seem DEAD. Just like you barely hear the crowd on ONA Live during parts where you KNOW folks screamed their heads off (like when he first hits the stage for instance), he muted the shit even further for the dvd... disbelief
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

sorry, it was in frankfurt. no peach in oberhausen.

i was in many european shows and in vegas.
for me it´s a little bit of everything.

yes we were tired.
but it was a graet show with lots of energy.
prince had to perform the DVD.
there were non-die-hard-prince-fans.
the camreapeople were working their part.
the funk-encore with prince on bass was crazy, but not on the DVD.
the sound is strange anyway.

don´t wonder too much. it was a great great 3 h show!!!

I was wondering the same thing, only I also wondered why they werent as active as I had thought when the reports 1st came in after the concert. I heard (at that time) prince was really going 2 town on stage, but it didnt seem he did either. The audience really did seem dead 2 me.
