DC Screening was wanting but fun

It was only about half full and the picture and sound could have been better. In fact, I couldnt believe how shitty the picture was - it looked like an overexpanded mov. file image on your computer. I was thinking the whole time,'thank God I have the DVD at home'.

For those of you who were there after the credits rolled and waited for the bonus cuts, I left first and grabbed most of the posters that were in mint condition as I knew they would probably be something free to grab for those who were smart enough to think of it - they are quite nice.

"Dont hate me because I'm fabulous!"

Also the ticket they gave us is neat even though they did not spell the city correctly. Nice memorbilia. I would what the posters will get on eBay??

I feel like I just got home from a actual gig - without the ringing ears, the throbbing feet, and the sore lower back. Just as a concert, there were some Prince geeks that could not control themselves during the film (you know that common Prince demographic: overweight, middle aged, African American women with huge asses, big mouths, and bad attitudes) and they were sitting right next to me - as they always seem to do at every damn Prince gig. All they did was squeal, giggle, and talk over the music like school girls when Prince batted his eyes on the close ups. It is OK because I climbed over their fat asses and copped 13 posters before they even knew they were in a pile on the floor outside the theater door.

Even bad sound and picture couldnt stop Prince on the big screen. I hope people get this DVD and see what they have been missing since they got off the Purple Rain bandwagon back in the 80s. I open my mailbox and there is the Tokyo DVD so I am in for another Prince gig until mid night...cant get too much funk!

Thanks for the update. Although I had tickets, I had a meeting downtown that didn't end until 7, so I gave up on trying to get through downtown, on to the Beltway and up 270 out to G-burg by 8.

Although I was in Vegas and have been wearing out the DVD cataloging the clock times of all the OneMoJam sightings for posterity, I would have liked to have been out there with y'all tonight.

Save a Silva Sprang bruva a poster, main.

If you couldn't believe how shitty the picture was, then how can you consider the DVD to be "a triumph"?

People who haven't seen Prince since Purple Rain aren't gonna jump at the chance to buy a DVD which even by your account has an unbelievably shitty picture.

You really take pleasure in putting other people down, don't you? Sad.

The picture quality is determined by the equipment that was showing the video - the projector in the theater. It was not the DVD. If you read my post closely before saying something stupid, you would see that I was relieved that I had the DVD to view instead just the poor quality screening that I saw tonight.

Yeah, Blue Angel, shut up! Can't you see I'm trying to get me a poster?

Don't be gettin' LaMont sidetracked 'til I gets me a poster, O.K.?

Did it make you feel good to take someone else's poster? I find it perplexing that you claim you're a supporter of Prince and yet you take 13 free posters with the intention of selling them for profit on e-bay. How do you think he feels about that?

The picture quality on the DVD is just as shitty as it would be on the screen, except perhaps the large size of the screen would exacerbate the DVD's flaws. Or maybe the club sent yer very own Deluxe Version, digitally mastered and shit, so you can sell it for profit on e-bay. wink

That's it, Blue Angel. It's bad enough I couldn't make the screening to hang out with some of the DC crowd.

If I don't manage to get a poster from LaMont (for free, right bruv?), I'm holding you personally responsible and I'm coming out to BlueAngelLand to put a hurtin on ya!

Just this once, help a bruva out and take your whingin' somewhere else! O.K.?

Pssst. Pssst. B.A.

In your next post, at least throw in something about how the decent thing
for LaMont to do would be to give me a poster.

In a karmic sense, it would help to offset the boot, don't you think? Work the guilt thing on him.

I think there's an opportunity for us to work as a team here.

Thanks.

Doesnt matter if it is approved - I buy all official material and attend all official events - and I have been doing so since 1978. No money is lost on a fan like me so that bootleg argument doesnt work on me.

There were plenty of posters. More stupidity. Read closely and you will not see me say I was going to sell them on eBay. I asked what they would get on eBay. I also said that the theater was far from full and there was at least one poster for everyone on the list - most of which didnt come. I took nothing from no one. Since you were not there is see how many posters there were, how can you open your mouth with any authority to speak on it?

And who doesnt know that the equipment showing a video determines the quality of the picture that you see? Ever watch a program on a bad TV - if it sucks, it is not the network's fault, its the TV! A good DVD image WILL suffer if it is stretched through a projector. My DVD looks fantastic so once again you are speaking on what you dont know.

What would Prince say about someone that makes assertions without knowing the truth? But then, what losers cares what Prince says anyway? He is not the messiah.

I think the subject of that material would look at it a different way. But then again, he has a revisionist take on most things, so maybe he values a revisionist attitude in his Fams as well. Keep on keepin' on, citizen!

LaMont, forget BlueAngel and Anxiety.

I'm gettin' this vibe that you and I are beginning to bond on this poster thing.

Hey, the rest of you: Don't just read this and move on.

This is your opportunity to give props to people who would be humanitarian enough to give someone like me one of their extra posters.

Finess

dunno Lamont have u heard the term "Garbage in Garbage out"... if the quality looked like shit on a movie screen, and was possibly ran from the dvd itself and not a projector. then the dvd looks like shit period. iv'e seen it. its Macro blockish, spotty, bad minidv transfer like it was done with TMPenc encoder and mastered to dvd.so, dont sit there LaMont with your " i play it off like i know something" and get shut down when someone who "knows" something shuts you down.

and hence no more replies. i think if you refrain from loudmouthin' you might get more respect and treated like an adult instead of a constant talking loud and saying nothing individual

just my 2 cents.
