purpledoveuk said: These people...John Blackwell, Candly Dulfer, Eric Leeds etc etc..are pretty much yes men. What career do they have outside Prince...you can bet your bottom dollar that nobody would have heard of them if it wasnt for Prince (I guess soembody will prove me wrong).
So why do tehy do gigs with Prince, sure maybe cuz hes a great musician but I bet the main reason is the crowd and the pay that comes with saying YES to the little man - 3000 a night with Prince in a stadium or 30 punters down the Dog and Duck...you chose Mr Leeds [This message was edited Tue Jul 29 14:35:16 PDT 2003 by purpledoveuk] yes most people know them from their association with P.... but John has hs own dvd out... he has toured his drum clinic & i have had pleasure of seeing & meeting him myself on said tour. Eric has made solo recordings,as has Candy. many players r in bands & also have their own thing goin on. [This message was edited Wed Jul 30 1:18:00 PDT 2003 by Joshy] www.riotcitywrestling.com

did any1 actually read this page?
http://www.npgmusicclub.com/join.html it does exactly what it says on the tin (although the 'new' retail room isn't quite as new as it could be). of course this doesn't meet everyone's ideal for the site, and maybe it isn't good enough to do justice to a great artist, but it does include everything on that 'join now' page. Not entirely true where is the "ever changing array of experiences"...not much has changed recently and very little has changed overall except for some background pictures and the inclusion of some old songs in the reflection room.

The retail's "not quite as new as it could be"? How exactly is it new at all? The only thing that hasn't been available for purchase for years is News.
And I agree with PurpleDove...anyone who thinks the club is an "ever-changing array of experiences" really needs to lay offa the purple pipe. sinaplenty said: did any1 actually read this page?

I had no expectations for year 3. I wasn't even gonna join this year. Of course, now I wish I hadn't. If they would tell how to delete my credit card information like I asked two months ago, I would have been gone by now. I think I joined this time because of the anticipation of it all. It was very well hyped. I just didn't want to miss anything. I guess I would have been okay because I wouldn't have missed anything. I could get the NEWS CD and the new DVD(which I have no interest in) in the stores. Posting to the forums is meaningless to me, especially the Knowledge(judgemental central)one.

purpledoveuk said: the other point is,yes its only $25 and we shouldnt expect much at all...but why not do something good and charge more. Afterall this is now the main/only way for Prince to interact with his fans...wouldnt you put some effort into your only resource. I kinda thought that was the point of this year. Maybe with his new JW beliefs, he wasn't feeling as creative, or didn't expect as much output this year. Maybe he doesn't forsee "something good" so he charged less. I'm not saying this justifies late shipments or whatever, but I just thought that may have influenced the direction of the club this year. I know this is an old thread but that's my [This message was edited Wed Aug 6 10:39:35 PDT 2003 by matchufalls]
