I'm still waiting too. I ordered 2 copies - foolishly thought it wouldn't go to stores so bought a copy for a friend - Now they just need to go to HMV! First time I've been stiffed by mail order so I guess I was due!

Musictoday says final shipment goes out tomorrow. Released in stores on the 29th.

Still no news 4 me, I've ordered more than 1 month ago.
I'm in Europe. It means, that I will received at least 2 weeks after the album hits the stores (with a better price).
The very same day I received a mail promoting this very exclusive new DVD from the npg.(probably shot by a blindman with a handycam)

NPGMC do it again!

Lilewise, I ordered at 9.30am on the 19th June. I got a confirmation email, then, silence.

No CD.

No responses from Music Today to my emails.

No responses from NPGMC

Now a message appears on MPGMC saying the final batch is going out, so unless they upgrade everyones shipping, for free, those outside of America will not get it before retail.

Well done NPGMC. You are infact endangering breaking the law yet again. False Advertising.

Anyone notice how the DVD advert makes a point so saying it will ship that day? Why? Because they know they have fucked up yet again with NEWS.

Now wheres that BBB address...

like I said this is just a quick sampling of what I could find very quickly...there were tons more replies for each area.
I hope everyone gets theres asap, but please...lets leave a lil room for err...eh? to err is human right? could be on the part of NPGMC could be on the part of the postal service, flight, drivers...thieves...who knows...it's not all on NPGMC. although they should be relpying to your inquiries for sure. if they are not, that is something to be upset about.

Why should we be then bothered to order anything via NPGMC? As I said, next Monday people in Europe (NPGMC members included) can walk into a store and simply pick up a CD. And cheaper (in some cases, at least).

However. I think the club have run out of excuses. Even if the people who don't get it are the minority, its simply not good enough.

The NPGMC is no longer a young or learning business. In one form or another its been around since 96. Its quite simple, they should explain what you get, take the order and deliver in a timely fashion. It should not be hard. The whole operation is unprofessional.

They are mucking the customers around for simple whims. I'm convinced that NEWS was a cock up from the start.

Because the calender had four days marked (I, like many, believe for the Celebration) they made up a NEWS release day to coincide. However, the Discs weren't even ready, so shipping didn't begin until the 25th.

Then they promised to ship, in order of placement, which they have clearly not done.

All along they promised "xclusive" before retail, and again they cannot get it right. Maybe its only a minority, but its simply not good enough. His "business" staff should be fired.

Even the email order confirmation is rubbish. Its gives a link to track your order, which simply takes you to the NPGMC sign up page.

I have politely emailed music today and NPGMC. I have not even got a response.

I went to the NPGMC forum, posted the problem and it was ignored.

I tried to speak to a moderator in the chat room and they refused to answer any questions directly and started giving me crap answers like "We talk about the now, not the future" and "Do you believe P will come through for you??"

If anyone does get let down again, they have as much right, or even more so, to complain to the BBB concerning failure of service.

Its very easy for people (who have their disc) in here to claim BBB action could ruin it for everyone, but are those same people happy to help others directly in taking the club on instead?

What I'm saying from my point of view is: It was explained what I would get (4 days of listening made it pretty clear as to what I was getting) they took my order and delivered it in a timely fashion. It was not hard and it WAS very professional.

Although I have to say that I've read allot of posts about how folx have gotten plenty of timely answers out of the mods and what not...so I don't understand why yours keep falling through the cracks. That does suck!


I think the term being let down is pretty vague to be calling the BBB but...hey...if you think that will help you and others I guess you gotta do what you think is right.
OK...I have my CD, I think calling the BBB is ridiculous, and I will gladly help you if you'd like. I have offered my help in the past...(ask blueangel) but "taking the club on" what on earth do you mean by that? I will most certainly try to get some answers for you or something to that effect or maybe since I had such good service I could order you a copy and send it to you??? but if you mean boycott them or something like that...NOPE! you can forget that idea.

You're right shorty. I did sound negavitive in that lot.

What I mean is, I'm not or never have been interested in BBB stuff, I've got more important things to worry about.

But I do fully support anyone who complains, in the right manner or for the right reason.

All of the points I made (except that of the use of the 19th, which was an opinion) are 100% valid, for the simple reason, they are based on facts.

I personally was using NEWS as a final test bed as to whether I could be bothered with NPGMC.

From here on in, I'm going to get it quicker and cheaper from retail and Kazaa. If far less hassle. The club can no longer offer me anything I can't get elsewhere (Except a spooky forum and chat room).

I think I'll dip in, only if a tour gets announced.

Well done for voicing your opinions Squrrelmeat. I too am from the Uk and ordered news as soon as it was placed onto the NPGMC page, which meant I stayed up late, and ordered it as soon as I could hoping that I would get it before it was released in stores. Unfortuantely, like you guys, I am still waiting for it here and am annoyed that after all the complaints last year, the NPGMC have fucked up yet again. Like all the fans, I am REALLY into Prince, who is a great musician, but it is a shame that his business sense is spoiling his reputation as an artist. Frequently in the press his great music is overshadowed by his clumsy reputation as a poor businessman. Like Squirrelmeat, I too was using this NEWS cd to act as confirmation of a possibility of joining again next year, but I think on this I will decline, especially when I can walk into HMV monday without any stress and buy it from a nice friendly face without worrying about shipping costs etc, which works out cheaper in the long run. As for the DVD, you've gotta be kidding, I;ll buy it in HMV cheaper when it released properly. Sometimes you dont mind waiting that little bit longer if you get a better deal, and that's what HMV are offering in opposition the the badly run NPGMC. I think Prince should finally lay NPGMC to rest and start concentrating on releasing through normal and more trustworthy distributors that won't profit from ripping off his fans..although this will never happen, he's a Jehovas Witness for god sake!!!

relax y'all...they were just shipped the other day and it takes 7-10 business days. this does, of course, mean we will get it AFTER the retail release...but i suspected that all along. its cool, its still cheape through npgmc. if my memory serves me well, i talked to them on tuesday. musctoday said that the remaining orders were sent out that day and the day before. its almost here...i can hear it!
