N.E.W.S. arrives in the UK!

But not on my doorstep, I have had confirmation though!

This seems to be a well oiled machine this time round, I am so looking forward to hearing N.E.W.S. I have managed to resist listening to any of the mp3's!

Count the days

I'm not counting my chickens that the problems are solved. I ordered mine within the first 2 hours, and long before many people who have already got it, according to their posts.

Yet I've had no email since the initial confirmation of order. But NPGMC said they were going out in order of those who ordered first.

Someone is lying somewhere!

My credit card was billed on the 30th of June. What was that e-mail about three waves of shipment and that CC billing would precede delivery? I dunno, anyway, only £11 and 57 pennies including P&P, not bad.

It was pretty obvious to me when the delay was announced that the foreign orders would take a back seat to domestic, and I posted about this then(can't remeber if here or at the club). I ordered within the first 30 mins, and received my shipping confirmation 30/6, by which time US orders were already being played! Obviously the priority shipping orders took priority, then it would appear that it was ALMOST in order of the time of order, as long as you were in the US! - bear in mind that the FIRST wave of shipping was on a Friday, 2 days later than originally planned. I doubt that Musictoday was going to work through the weekend to make up the backlog.
It would have been quicker for us non US citizens if they had used regular air mail instead of DHL. 2 - 4 weeks is surface mail, maybe literally SHIPPING. And while I appreciate the reduced cost of shipping over previous years/club, just putting that puppy in a Jiffy bag and taking it to the post office would have been quicker and cheaper.
Still 3 days for me to receive it or miss it for 6 months.

Have you had a card statement yet, or can you look online? I haven't had an email yet but my card has been charged, so I am guessing it has been sent. If they have charged my card without posting, I will not be happy.
RIP sad

Sucker! It's £8.99 from CD Wow. No $25 membership fee (sorry, donation) either.

I am glad I have joined the club!

So what if N.E.W.S. is more expensive that on-line stores are selling it!

At least we will get other exclusive titles that non members will not!

Mine was billed 30th too - for £11.76! bloody stupid exchange rates.

would you rather CD Wow made a profit or Paisley Park made a profit? I know which I'd choose for the sake of £2.77 (which isn't that bad a premium to make sure you get the CD first).

I'd choose whoever delivers on their promises, and if that means PP makes less profit I think they only have themselves to blame. However, bear in mind that CD WOW and the rest ALSO have to get their discs from Paisley.
So far it seems that no one outside the US has received their order yet. I would still hope that we get our CDs before the retailers.

Paisley are still using a middleman, so the additional profit from either distributor will not go onto the pocket of Prince regardless.

I hope you are right about members getting it first. You can imagine how well the service will be recieved if they cock it up AGAIN!

With only 8 working days to get the CD out to members early, they are cutting it fine. Particularly as it seems they are shipping to the people abroad last. Madness in my opinion, if they want to avoid breaking their word.

Even if it does come through by the end of next week, do fans who pay for exclusive early releases mean is to be a day or two?

Are you ok, frankjotzo? You seem a little bitter about something?

The membership is more than just "free stuff" and discounts. I think 25 dollars is fine to be part of a club. I ordered the original direct from the club because I wanted to.

Besides as members (sorry, donors) we have already heard the tracks and downloaded them. If I wanted to be a tightarsed skinflint I could burn myself a copy and be happy. That would have cost me 0 pounds. Which by my reckoning is cheaper than 8.99, is it not?

Sincerely,

A happy sucker

You won't be happy when I get my copy before you get yours, but you'll always be a sucker. Some things in life can't be changed.
