Here's the message on the main screen when you want to order the NEWS CD :

Please Note: The initial demand for N.E.W.S has been so great that we can no longer ship all of the ordered CDs by June 25. We will fulfill as many orders as possible from the initial pressing and then fulfill the remaining orders as soon as more stock arrives. This may not be until mid-July, so please be patient. NPGMC orders will be fulfilled before the CD is available in stores, so this is still the best place to get the N.E.W.S. before the rest of the world.

Who cares? The only people who will buy this CD in stores are the zealots who've already bought it from the club & want an extra copy for "posterity."

I'm curious to see what reviews this will get.
Not that I mind, but this is not gonna sell AT ALL, IMO.
I mean, members already bought several copies for their friends.
Maybe this will sell like 50,000? In retail, online is another thing.

I'll buy it in stores because I decided not to join the club this year. Having CD's shipped to me was a complete nightmare in NPGMC 2002, so I'll be happy to go to the store to pick it up without having to worry about lost packages.

But you're right, it probably won't sell very well in stores. But that's not really the point of music anyway.

Why does he want to release this in stores? Casual fans are going to complain to no end when they get home and actually listen to it.

Actually, I'm very happy that he doesn't mind.
That's what I want from him: trying to challenge the listeners.

With most new releases Prince makes at least one TV appearance/performance.
Where will he find a venue for 14 minute instrumental on TV?
Were the recording sessions filmed?

c'mon... Are you serious? THIS Is getting released?

Whenever P. McCartney released his avant garde experimental cd's... he released it under a psuedoname, which was a brilliant move.

I might also note: Pauls' Fireman:Rushes is better than prince's instrumental.. Rushes is BEAUTIFUL!


its very collage-like, and repeats at times, but its a beautiful album.

Maybe NEWS will be released as a bonus disc with the release of Xpectation in stores.

so members really aren't getting anything special if non-members will still get to by the cd.
