NPGMC response to shipping delays

I just found this in the U Tell Us forums, looks like it was posted yesterday but I haven't seen anyone reference it here yet. A sticky posted by PP2:

n.e.w.s. shipping update

n.e.w.s starts shipping 2day 2 those who ordered it first. Musictoday told us u will receive a confirmation emale once ur credit card has been charged. They do not charge ur card until they r ready 2 ship, so if u receive that emale, know ur shipment will b sent out soon.
Due 2 high demand, not all CDs can b shipped 2day. A second wave of shipment begins next week, and a third wave in 3 weeks. In perspective, those who waited until this week 2 order the CD will b getting it in mid-July. The NPGMC will still receive the CDs b4 stores do.

Ur patience is appreciated.

I personally find it a bit hard to believe that any of them have actually been shipped, considering from all accounts you will receive an email when it ships and when your card is charged, yet nobody has received the email.

How big are these "waves" anyway? Are we talking "a few dozen discs" or what?
No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

Yeah, considering you heard directly from MusicToday that they hadn't shipped anything yet and would be waiting until they got a bigger shipment to send anything out, who knows what's going on. I suppose it was more wishful thinking on NPGMC's part that anything would actually ship out yesterday.

So I know I was one of the very first to purchase this, since I ordered it 5 minutes after it was availible.. and I havent recieved any emails, nor my CC hasnt been charged

Here's just another great example of how that place works..

I find I am not upset at all about this delay because they are at least posting info about it. Shit happens, especially when dealing w/ Prince, but at least now they are keeping us informed.

That is a vast improvement and I'm so happy to see it. I've always felt that when they stayed silent about things like shipping delays it was extremely disrespectful, not to mention unacceptable customer service wise.

I'll keep watching my bank statement and my mailbox, but now w/ out any anxiety thanks to the info.
I'm firmly planted in denial

I received an e-mail telling me that my order is being processed and will be shipped promptly, that was Friday at 12:30 p.m. and I live near Chicago so I expect to receive the CD soon, I'll let ya know but I wouldn't be surprised if it arrives this week maybe even tomorrow.

For those cynical non-believers, here's the actual e-mail with all personal info blocked out and as you can see the shipping says 7-10 days so wishful thinking on my part saying perhaps I would receive the CD this week maybe even tomorrow well that won't happen but it'll arrive soon enough.
