I like East...the drums tough...the guitar tougher. I'm firmly planted in denial

Sounds like 3 different songs. I like it. It's fierce. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

the thing that sticks out in my mind is how NORTH appears to counterbalance whatever EAST is doing -- EAST is crazy man!
(I also am goin' crazy on the names of these things, what is in a name, though?! The internal name of the NORTH file is "N" the genre is "Jazz" and the album name is "NEWS". The internal name of the EAST mp3, meanwhile, is "East" the genre is not listed and the album is named "N.E.W.S." and, yeah I may be slightly obsessive, but this crap bothers my sense of order!) I haven't been able to digest EAST yet, but i am really diggin' on NORTH. It's playin' again, as opposed to the MESS that EAST is. EAST seems to have several distinct parts to it, an extended intro that sounds very Eastern, and then about two or three middle parts. I just don't get it yet. La, la, la

All I have to say is that East is very trippy and rough. Has that oriental feel to it. Felt that early on when listening in Vault III and in the promo.
Prince is really stretching out, expanding. Acid-trippy. John is slamming. Blazing guitar. Eric, Rhonda and Renato fill in the holes where needed. Love it. Whoah. The tempo change right there at 5:05. That's from the NEWS promo. Totally switches gears. Drops into another groove three minutes later. Echos of Madhouse. I agree -- three flavors in one joint. Rockhardinafunkyplace. In the basement, y'all. We are going deep. Can't wait until South and West. Two down, two to go. Can't wait for the official relase to hear it in full effect. I am truly wondering where Prince received inspriation for this? Whew. Wonder what NEWS will be like in an intimate setting, a concert venue??

How do I get to my temp files to save it?

Very special and a real turnaround, i like the changes (maybe to show the different parts and lifestyles of the East) the sounds, the groove and the arrangement of this song a lot. The whole song for me is without comparison, it cannot classified, real new and it feels good --- that´s a description of art or musically for jazz, isn´t it ?

from the dropdown menu, select "internet options" from there, click on the "general" tab after that, click the "settings" button then click the "view files" button. enjoy

Well, the fact that he used the best part from all that we´ve heard from the cd so far for the promotional clip proves that he still has good taste. The question is, why isn´t the rest just as good in that case?
Generally I agree with most people here. North was weak, East is good. But I don´t think I´ll listen to any of it that much in the future. CDs with long instrumental jams tend to end up on a dusty shelf no matter how good they are. I don´t know why, really.

LOVE East- had no idea what to expect based on the Vault sample, but the horns, drums, guitars are nice. Yes- it's does feel like 3 different songs but I like the transitions. Socks still got butt like a leather seat...

NORTH is great -- i'm sittin' here makin' faces as i listen to the horns and the subdued keyboards and drums... not to mention the guitar just talkin' kinda quiet. EAST is... my favorite, the LEAST. NORTH, the beginning of the trip very calm and peaceful, a little bit disappointing at first
EAST a great piece of work a lot of idea, John B. amazing despite a crappy MP3, NORTH getting better bye Bataclan 2002 : "Good Morning 2 U"

Thanks for the reply but I have my IE to dump all my temp files after I close the window, at least here at work:) I can wait for the cd to show up I guess, I just wanted to listen to North and East to compare the two songs, but I forgot to grab North. No biggy MS

Xpectation is a familiar friend of mine, I love Xpectation so very much and have come to know Xpectation over time and understand and digest over time.
The same I'm sure is true of North and East. While I am really digging them both, I have yet to become deeply acquainted. I am like this with most of his music. I must say though, that Xpectation was unlike any other. I have not had that off 'play' since I downloaded it. I really think it helps if the listener likes jazz as well. I love jazz and although I think Prince's music is not jazz (I just hear 'Prince' music, lol), I can hear the jazz influence - of course I can! I am really excited about his music.

Both trax are good - Don't know what to expect from P anymore & I guess that is a great thing - Surely not predictable, can't wait to hear the rest of N.E.W.S.

I like East better than North.
I appreciate that Prince is doing some different shit. But, I can't really see myself listening to these songs too often. The music is good...and perfect to play to non-Prince fans to show them how diverse he really is. I prefer Prince's jamming where he has sort of a pattern to what he's doing...whereas NEWS is just all over the place. So in summary, I like and appreciate what Prince is doing...but I prefer TRC and ONA Live. Looking forward to Prince bringing back his vocals. Although, I definately want Prince to pursue what's he feeling...so if this is it...so be it. I kinda look at A piece of music to reflect his diversity.

14 minutes each track & if the album is at all like EAST then i'm on Cloud9... it sounds like MadHouse VS Kamasutra Peace ... & Stay Funky ...
