I ordered NEWS from work, at 9:46AM (eastern time). When I came home, there was an e-mail stating that the item is on backorder & should arrive within 1-4 weeks.

Typical Prince... put something on sale & don't have enough ready.

Hell, I'm still waiting for my copy of The Undertaker that I ordered in 1993 from 1800NewFunk

Same with me. I placed my order at 735 cdt.

Even if they made sure there was enough for every member who signed up, you can thank the fanatics who ordered multiple copies.

I ordered it exactly 12:05 when it went on sale?! What's up wit dat??!! I won't be hearing "East" until later tonight. I'm going to check out a midnight showing of the Hulk!! Anyone think there will be a party at Paisley Park on Friday for this release?? Hmmm...

They probably were never "in stock". Crystal Ball Pt. 2...

the cd went on sale on June 19th...
the npgmc said the cd wouldn't be shipped until the 25th...
the backorder email is probabely an automatic response because you were allowed to order it before they were to be officially shipped,
the backorder email is necessary because some people probably never read the ship date email from the music club and would start griping when they ordered something on the 19th with next day shipping and the package was late...

that's my theory...

I asked musictoday about it. It's a standard email they sent out since the cds aren't shipping until the 25th. So there ya have it.

Another day...another reason to complain...We ALL ordered it--most can hear it already---what's the uproar??

After reading your messeges, I decided to check my email to see if I got one of those backorder emails. Surprise, surprise, I didn't get one, so I guess my cd will be shipped out on the 25th. I've never had any problesm with the NPGMC when it comes to ordering and receiving. I feel blessed.

What's wrong with Prince doing music for himself? What's wrong with Prince making a little money for himself? It's a capitalist society. Whether we like it or not?
