Devolution more like...Prince does seem to have lost his way...he doesnt have an ear for a good album anymore. Instead he content just dribbling out stuff like NEWS which is obvioulsy fresh out of the oven but undercooked!!! we get the odd glimpse of good trax like Reflection but thats it...just a glimpse. Gone are the days when you used to get brilliant tracks back to back with teh odd glimpse of something not quite right. Im not stuck in the Purple Rain era before anybody says it..im talking about the albums of teh late 80s and 90s...D&P, Gold Experience, SOTT...albums that had variety, skill and real love behind them..now its more like he gets out of bed,scratches his arse and reluctantly goes into teh studio to bang out atrack whilst still half alseep...then back to bed.

As long as Prince has the captive audience of the club he doesnt have to try...can you imagine what his recent releases would do in the shops...nothing at all but thats where todays musicians show what theyve got and what they can do...not to an audience who are only too glad to take anything aslong as it amounts to $25 worth

Prince the artist is not dead. He still has some great jams left in him. He has just gotten older though and like most artists, his talent is a bit dulled by time and the loss of youthful exuberance.

He will still put out great songs from time to time, but they will just be fewer and farther between. I love some of the stuff on the One Nite Alone CD (title track, U're Gonna C Me,etc)...that is classic Prince music! But I agree that NEWS and The Rainbow Children offered little to be excited about.

But it ain't over! Prince still has that genius inside of him and it will come outside to play from time to time, so don't give up on him.

I don't know, but shelllfish shelllfish. U don't have to like it all. Cause there are some core fans that will take anything let it be, you don't have to like it all.
