musictoday vs. archway

When I ordered the NEWS CD, I had to sign up as a new customer. The order is being processed by musictoday.com. I just went into the npg store through the music club website, and when you click on help desk, the e-mail address that comes up is archway, not musictoday. Maybe that's why my customer info wasn't with musictoday.com. Archway inherited our customer info from Gage, but I don't think archway shared it with musictoday. Maybe Prince is using the NEWS CD as a test to see if musictoday can handle his retail side better.

Gage changed its name to Archway earlier in 2003. There was no 'inheritance'.

It appears that Pixius built the shopping cart for the club and then delivers the info to Archway. Musictoday however has all of their shopping cart and database stuff on their own machines. That is one difference and also why your info is not automatically populated into the musictoday database. My guess is that this is in fact a "trial-run" to see if Musictoday can do a good job. And I gotta say thumbs up so far. He should absolutely switch to Musictoday for ALL the retail. They got their act together.
