NEWS Room Now Open I haven't seen this posted yet, but there is a new room open for the debut of "N.E.W.S."
It is the second staircase on the right. It only shows the teaser for the CD right now. Apparently, there will be a listending party June 19-22. The CD will be available for order on June 19. I can't wait to wait. | |

I know its bad ettiquette to respond to your own post, but f*** it. I would imagine the only way to have a "listening party" is to make sure it is widely available to all members from June 19-22.
Do you suppose there will be a streaming audio clip? Will we have access to downloads once we officially purchase? Is it really necessary for me to ask these hypothetical question becuase no one knows and we will all know for sure on June 19?  | |

Well, I was actually wondering why it was taking so long for news of this magnitude to be recognized, but... I am thinking maybe a streaming audio clip that just repeats non-stop until the 22nd. Kind of like you log in, and then enter the room for some audible satisfaction. 
My only question is, can you retrieve streaming audio from your temporary internet files as a permanent clip (to play at your leisure)??? Also, being that the party will be for 4 days only, is that a hint that they will get the CD to us during that time (maybe a new and improved method of shipping)?? I guess time will tell all... | |

I guess that will be his excuse for circling those dates on the calendar this year! Had all our hopes up for a celebration that's not happening! (I remember the "listening party" for The Rainbow Children CD. A friend and I flew all the way from LA to Mpls hoping for a performance, only to find that all they were doing was playing the CD in the NPGMC/L4OA room at Paisley Park. Prince was busy entertaining the press in a private VIP party and barely even made an appearance. I heard a few people saw him, be we sure didn't! It was a little disappointing, even though just being at Paisley Park is kind of cool! So be warned if you plan to attend this one. A "listening" party is exactly what it says it is!) Kat:) P.S. I'm going to miss Paisley Park this year! It's such a beautiful place to hang out! | |

I'm sure he originally planned to have the Celebration those dates and for whatever reasons decided not to this year or at this time so he had to do something to make the circled dates on the calendar mean something. Anyway, I'm psyched for NEWS. I don't mind that he's had two instrumental albums (if you count Xpectation as an actual album) in a row.It is where his muse is taking him! No one ever critisized Miles Davis for too many instrumental albums! Prince will do more funk, more rock, more whatever on his own time, when the muse hits. Right now he is into the instrumental jazz improve. Thats cool! | |

the probleme is that, if it's in streaming audio, one can't have it in the temporary internet files!!!
try with the NEWS teaser, u'll see that it doesn't appear in your temporary files. DAMN IT!!! | |

IMO, it'll be similar to any other stuff posted already, using WM9 & QT for us to view. If I'm not mistaken, I thought I saw something that said NEWS would be available for purchase through the club, starting the 19th. Was I dreaming or did anybody else see it?? I can't seem to find it anymore... your limits on the file sizes accepted by your Temp folder are probably too small. clisk on the video link until it starts to buffer, right click the blank screen where the vid will play and select properties - copy the file path and paste into something like RealDownload. hey presto! All those who believe in telekinetics, raise my hand...
