No big deal. I don't care who likes this site and who doesn't - certainly I can recognise that this site isn't for everyone. If the Org doesn't suit your needs, post elsewhere. No big mystery, no big drama.

The whole positive/negative thing that started this topic and that seems to drive any discussions of this issue is just a distraction from the more important point: that the site should be for everyone, or for as many people as possible. Granted, the reality of a site being for "everyone" is obviously impossible to meet for a couple of reasons.

First, that some people just don't want to participate in a particular community because it doesn't suit their needs or temperment. (The point I believe that you were trying to make.) But frankly, and with all due respect, it is irrelevant in a way for a moderator to comment on this.

And secondly, there are limits even to "free speech." For example, those people who deliberately and persistently say extremely offensive things in a manner that drives people away or is inflammatory or racist etc, which is why we have site rules and moderators. Witness IrishEcho for instance and LouDawg, even Oceana. Their deactivations were not instances of stifling free speech, but rather instances of preserving the greatest degree of free speech for the majority.

I only come to this site becuz there are some who are not asskissers nor Prince fanatics who keep it real; Nupwrsoul, calhounsq, just to name a few.

The reason there is all this Org bashing is because the Psychos..sorry REAL fans think taht prince might be listening and are so determined to show him that they really really love him (despite his fault...phew there are alot of faults) that they denounce anything that doesnt have the Prince stamp of approval!!

And so many intelligent folks in here suck it up and defend him for it.

there is definately a lot of ass kissing at the MC but its not fair to label everyone who posts a positive comment about prince that way, after all it is a fan site so people must like him. and while i love prince.org and visit here everyday, there has been a lot of fighting going on lately and it all seems a bit uneccasary. the MC is new and personally i enjoy visiting both sites, i have been a prince fan for years, but dont know many others, so i see both sites as giving me the oppurtunity to hang out with likeminded people, much of the shit spoken at the MC pisses me off like the zealotry, but then even here we are all so diverse other than our fondness for prince a lot of shit gets siad here too, ive had some real fights over the years and made some good friends.

to me the two sites are the same, places for prince fans, i dont see the need to feel this "them and us" thing.

if i met any of you in person and found out you were a fan id instantly want to buy u a beer and and have a chat, members of both sites should just keep it real.

thing is i think this stuff is blown outta proportion...a lot...i see a lot of threads started over here saying stuff that i'm not sure has really been said over there..or if it has it isn't being said nearly as much as people are being led to believe...

and the saddest part is rather than check it out, people just say..'oh eff them, who needs them...'

when the truth is, suprisingly few threads have anything to do with the org at all...

what i'm most bothered by is that so many people look at this as an us vs. them thing...why can't two sites co-exist without resorting to the 'my dad can beat up your dad' mentality?
