Should I join NPG Music Club?
Do the members get a private message from
The Purple One himself?

It's not worth it unless you feel that it is worth $25 to chat and post in forums with the small hope that someday there will be another song.

If you are a REAL Prince fan you should join. Otherwise, you are a traitor and should go listen to N Sync!

Actually, I'm only kidding. I'm glad I joined myself because it is worth the $25 to me. Whether you should join probably has more to do with your cash flow than it does with how much you like Prince. $25 is not much, but it is a lot to some people. Actually, I really couldn't afford it right now, but I joined anyway. Also, if you would only join for new songs, then probably don't bother because there aren't many.

TonyC, you're absolutely correct - at least, if by "there aren't many" you mean "there aren't any" new songs.

Yes - U oughta join. Why miss out if you like Prince? It's cool - interactive; different rooms to check out - videos, the vault, the forums, the chat room, the music room, retail, news, articles - it's a fun place!!

lol

I don't want to sway your decision one way or the other, actually - however, I think it's only fair to point out that there is no new music on the site at this point. Also, the video clips are going to be on the Vegas DVD that is coming out sometime in 2007 anyway. (joke!)

The Vault is simply a discography, FYI..not "the vault" that Prince has been talking about for the last 15 years or so.

I'm sure if you were ever a member of the club or visited one of their free sites, you won't expect the news section to be updated very often (or with pertinent information, for the most part)...and you would be correct in that expectation.

There IS a bulletin board and a chat room. Of course, you can do that on here for free.

There is also a Reflection room, which every few weeks streams 96 kbps mp3's (that you can download if you go to your temporary internet files) of officially releaesed Prince songs, such as "Elephants & Flowers" and "Still Would Stand All Time."

I don't THINK I forgot anything, but I might have.

Since I already gave my $25 (DONATION they call it! how do you like THAT nonsense!), I make sure I post on the boards often in order to try and justify my membership fee to myself.

If you're not expecting music and don't mind a much more restricted atmosphere than the org, then hey, it IS only $25, true. Of course I get the feeling that $25 to a lot of you is a heck of a lot less than $25 is to me.

I was told by the club that there would be "more music" released in the club this year...but notice they did NOT say "new music", so who knows.

Just wanted to throw that in there...if you join, see you on there!!!
