Just wonderin what the overall effect of it is. I think its a neat concept, altho it doesnt seem like a music club.. other than that I think the site is cool overall, it was pretty cheap to join, really nothing to expect, i kindof enjoy the empty rooms, but kindof wish there was someone at the entrance to tell u whats new and whats up in the building, instead of roaming in2 the same rooms everyday to make sure there isnt anything missed.

So what do yall think of it?

on days when I can check things out I hope that I havent missed anything. I think what I enjoy the most is that its so interactive. Just like when the org was new we all
had to learn when everthing was and get there so is the new NPGMC

Also I am looking forward to many NEW things to come
I dont think everything will be laid out as to what is coming, so all I can so is guess. For the price I think I have already gotten my share, as I can talk to friend I have met at Paisley and have seen parts of the Vegas show which has brought back many memories... Thanks

Like most thing on the .org, the negatives get blown way out of proportion. Sure, I've had my fair share of complaints, such as streaming audio, slowness, lack of new stuff, too much religious talk etc. But overall, I'm happy. It's only been up for about two weeks. Give it time, it'll grow.

Like Toejam said - teh negativity gets blown out of proportion at times...but so does the sickly sweet sentiment that Prince can do no wrong. In years 1 & 2 I had huge problems with being charged twice and not receiving CDs but,when I voiced my unhappiness,many people just said I was being unreasonable and I became a bit of a target figure whenever I posted.

Thats just to set the scene to let you know that I could be considered the biggest complainer in the world by some of the Prince-loonies.

So with that in mind you'll know how much I like this years Club so far when I say that Im impressed. Yes, there are things I'd change...I wouldnt mind some new stuff on there now because its getting abit boring wandering around reading the same things and wondering why the hell there is a dog in the garden with a rubberduck looking over its shoulder. But all in all I think its a grower.

People will be disapointed with it this year but only because they expect it to be on the same scale as the last 2 years...it wont be, you only paid $25 remember - that was the price of 1 NPGMC last year.

so far so good. Although, there should be more things on there to entice people who aren't "big fans" that just want to check out his site. I mean, if you are not a paying member, you don't really see anything at all...

Request: MUSIC please (wtf are you supposed to do with the Musicology room??? a few bars of the instruments, why not looping or make it loop and allow me to make my own song of it. Or give a key to play the song...

very boring, i agree. i only go on to post and read other's posts on the U Tell Us section, and only after i've exhausted the org first.

i really think this MUSIC club is sorely lacking MUSIC.

So far, it's a lot of purple smoke and mirrors. Even if the Club doesn't provide access to new music, at the very least it should be about his music.

In my opinion, his talent and music deserve a more serious, focused showcase than the current site provides.

I was over there today and I was looking on the bulletinboards I find that the NPGMC wanted us to give suggestions for what merchandise we would like??! OK, now its not hard to figure out that we want new cds! Music! When NPG asks this question year after year and people reply music music music its kinda silly. I found some other artists that deliver music and I think they are just as good as Prince, IMO. So if NPGMC doesn't deliver! I get other drugs, but purple pills are good time to time!

I'm imagining all kinds of cool tracks being available in the vault, and stopping in there each day to download a few. Of course, right now this is only a dream.

tom...i hope someday yer dream becomes a reality, but sadly i have gradually come to the conclusion over the last 10 years that it's never gonna happen.

testament is as good as we're gonna get...and it IS good, but to think of how many foolish grins he could inspire just by releasing a couple unknown or legendary-but-unheard tracks...i dunno, it seems like such a waste.

music is meant to be shared. prince acts like a greedy 3-year-old at playtime.

My interest in the club has elevated this year because they're actively maintining it.

I like the club. I especially like the interactive "feel" of the new NPGMC.

However, I wish they had more content, musically speaking.

I wish it were easier to get the files that are available.

I too would like to enter the site and know where to look for new stuff as opposed to traveling throughout the site to find any new tidbits.

Hopefully things will continue to get better and we'll have a very interactive experience.

Also, some of the suggestions will actually come to fruition so far as the site, new music and merchandise.

Although it's still new, it is getting just a bit BORING!!!

It's ok. It's pretty to look at but that gets old after a while. Considering that I had been looking for that Nikka Costa/Prince performance ever since I heard about it, getting that video was sweet. Still, it does need more content, but it's very early so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.
