that's ludicrous. everyone who joined knew that there was a new song available on the site...that is the ONLY reason i joined. i figured it was friday night, i just got paid, and there was a new prince tune within my grasp...i'm telling you, it's an addiction.

i'm no lawyer, but i'm pretty sure that the very fact that they made a new song available the first few days and the fact that in previous incarnations of the kkklub* they have always made downloads available at various points throughout the year...i mean, i think that pretty much is enough to make a good legal argument that the availability of new music was inherently implied.

when exactly did being a prince fan turn into all this goddamn nonsense?

You idiot!

What on earth would make you think a music club would feature music? Damn, you are stupid.

all they said is they never promised you anything. to think the site would not have any music between now and the end of 2003 is ridiculous. They just don't want to promise you anything so you want be sitting here in 2 months going "Those bastards haven't given me my music they promised!!!". jeez. Always gotta be starting some crap.

um, i must have not been clear. i agree with you absolutely...it's totally wrong that people who are now members are not able to hear the only new song that was (briefly) made available, esPECially b/c i really dig the song and would like to talk with y'all about it...

and i want some more music, too. donnie, i love yer screen name and avatar, but you might wanna just not read the posts in this forum if you're going to get all personally offended every time like last year. lawd. there's no reason for them not to throw out a song or 10 or 20...there are no other artists in the world who are more prolific or more stingy. it's like he's terrified of overexposing himself, even to the hardcores.

it aint starting anything.
its being honest & airing your views.
& not kissin' Prince's ass.

"We have never promised any new music in this years edition of the club.

now if they say this in an email instead of things like
"we have no word on new projects from prince"
or
"when new music becomes available we will in4m u"

or something in that vain as per usual, but actually state they "never promised any new music"...
i think that says something.
& also comes across like "we got your money & we aint promised nuthin so 2 bad!"
they should b careful how they word things in their emails,
as it looks pretty dodgy.

NPGMC showed up all haters and knuckleheads last year with the delivery of the Rave CD and the Xpectation album which caught everyone off guard. And those that stopped crying long enough to find money to buy concert tickets got to see free aftershows and front row seats. NPGMC will be ok but there will always be naysayers

Donnie' right. There was a reason the NPGMC was vague about what you'd get this year.
They got tore the f*ck up last year by members hitting them with " I was promised X
amount of CD's, when will I get them? I want them now!" This year they obviously didn't
want to deal with that. Now it's more like you join up for considerably less $$$ and you wait
and see what you get. They haven't said that you won't
get new music. In all likelihood we will. It'll just be a surprise.

As far as whether it was "inherently implied" that we'd get new music by what happened in
previous years, taking into account the considerably lower cost of membership this year one
could easily argue that it was inherently implied that members would receive considerably less
than in previous years.

I think the nonsense started when you have a place like Prince.org where people can bitch endlessly about everything. No one was promised any music and we're like a few weeks into the club so why can't people just shut up and be patient? The year has just begun and it's gonna be a looong year for people if they have nothing else to do but sit and wait for Prince to do something. People really shouldn't part with their $25 if it's all they have to their name, and you would think that is the case the way some people complain.
Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

i personally like everything prince has ever released...and i can honestly say that. ok, except for 1999:TNM, but there were a few months in '99 when i thought that the actual re'recorded version of 1999 was kinda slammin'...

obviously there are different degrees of like: my like of newpowersoul is miniscule compared to my like (hell, LOVE) of almost any song recorded from '85 to '88.

prince is the one who bragged about "grooves and grooves up on the shelf", and i bought it hook line and sinker. i'm a junky, and i JONES.
