Whats the deal with the Cyberclips

OK, maybe I'm not meant to be NPGMC03 material what with my 56k modem and all (& before you all say "Broadband", I can't get it in my area).

But the video clips are a pain in the backside.

I spent hours last night trying to get them buffered to my hard disk but I might just as well have been nailing jelly to a wall for all the success I had.

I could get the video to play (I have Real Player) but it would stop after a few seconds, start connecting/loading again and some time later play a few more seconds.

I have had a dig around in my TIF folder in the vain hope of a file having been downloaded but no joy.

I managed to get the tracks from the Reflection room down just by playing the track through and then getting the file from my TIF folder and they play fine (although "Reflection" itself had gone by the time I cracked this!).

Can I get some tips?? Yours in frustration...

there is a very easy way to download them/

1/while buffering the vid...rightclick on the vid and choose properties...there you can see the direct link to the file.

2/copy that link...

3/go to your windows media player (outside npgmc) choose file/open URL...fill in the direct link...its going to buffer again...don't worry...cuz now

4/while buffering you can choose file/save media as... now you can choose where you want to copy the file...the download begins and afterwards you can watch it zillions of time

goodluck

(must have been ages posting to the org again...but we are here to help each other out...no matter what usergroup, right!!!)

those links are for wmp...lemme check on that mediaplayer thing...

...ok...if the realmedia file is playing...rightclick on the vid and choose --- play in mediaplayer ---

that way you can view the clip outside of the npgmc...(and look at its properties (direct link and others) )

hope this helps (and btw...its a .rm file...so no streaming...this should mean you can download it)

I'm running off a T-1 and even the small clips buffer every few seconds.

I miss quicktime.

dazzler, thanks for helping these folks out...your suggestions are by leaps and bounds better than anything the moderators on the "official" site have been able to provide...in fact, lately they just ignore the posts altogether, it seems.

Matt,

I have a 56k modem and I live in the UK...I have the videos.
Get "Download Accelorator Plus" from speedbit.com.
Make it ur download manager.

When u click on the files it locates the url and downloads it from there.

I don't mean to moan (but I will), why should we go to all this trouble to get something we have already paid for as NPGMC03 members?
Not everyone is blessed with access to a super-computer!

We do all have lives to lead outside the NPGMC, P!

Bugger this for a laugh!

Where's my Sabotage catalogue, again!?

YOu dont need a super computer to dl the clips. I have 56K modem and I have them all. You have to be patient. If you want to wait for the DVD, then wait and stop crying. Yet another knucklehead blaming Prince for technical computer issues.
