I think he's covering his ass in case the club takes a wrong turn this year and members become angry.

i thought that too! isn't a donation something that is voluntary? i am aloud inside a church regardless if i give a donation or not. i can adopt a dog regardless of a donation or not. I love him too, but that is some funny mess.

If he calls it a membership fee and he doesnt deliver there could be trouble this time around...call it a contribution and you dont have aleg to stand on

great question sensual!! i doubt it though...like JC said, the fact that he calls it a donation wouldn't mean a darn thing to any court or the bbb or whatever - but i don't think that's why he did it - i think he did it b/c that's what the jehovah's witness church keeps asking from him - donations, donations, donations. it's hard to believe i went so many years without realizing what a frightening cult the JW sect really is...

i hope he doesn't give them too much money - p, save it for your woman and your progeny.

well, in the club's CONtract (heh), this is the only thing it has to say about the supposed "donation":

"Access to the membership services of the Club requires the paid subscription fee of $25.00 for the year of 2003."

When the site said donation, I thought donation to what? I hope he keeps this money for himself. I don't want any of my money going to the JWs, they have too much money all ready.

well, i've known jehovah's witnesses, and i've also done quite a bit of reading on their own websites in the last few years (not on any anti-JW sites, but the watchtower site and other "official" JW sites), and i stand by my original statement: they're a frightening cult. sorry, that's just how i feel.

i think ppl just diss JW's cos they want prince 2 b something other than what he is right now & want him 2 return 2 being mr Purple Rain & Mr Lovesexy again.

Well, then you're quite wrong. But since you brought it up, on those albums -- Purple Rain & Lovesexy or Sign o' the Times, heck, even Diamonds & Pearls, God was definitely present, just not as overwhelmingly intrusive as he's become in Prince's recent work. Yeah, yeah, I know "God is love, God is everywhere, we're supposed to welcome God into our lives" & all of that, but in a pop song? Come on! By the way, I doubt that few of us would object to a return of the consistency & quality of material on albums like Purple Rain & Lovesexy, especially when compared to dreck like "Young & Beautiful."

I'm a princefan since 1984, I visited many concerts en bought all records, 12" singles, and also video's and CD's and DVD's. And spend a lot of money on all kind of merchandising!

Concert tickets were also raised 200% and his costs were a lot less, no decor or spectacular special effects.

Now he's beging for another $25 just to visit the site.

(Money don't matter tonignt?) I'm very disappoited.

For the all fanz it must be possible to get the latest official prince newz and music! FOR FREE!

no joke, doomboogie...in my opinion, young & beautiful is probably the worst piece of music i've ever heard from the man...and that includes "silly game" which makes me want to murder puppies. wink (it's a JOKE).

and i've always loved prince's spirituality...i just miss his inclusiveness. i think the fact that there are 2 "secret" rooms in the club that require user names and passwords kidna highlights this point. i know, he's just trying to be "fun" or whatever, but it's not a lot of fun to miss an email and then not be able to access a site that other members who didn't pay anymore than you did can access.

and supposedly the VS room is "harlem" backwards for the user name and password? someone posted that here on another thread and someone else said it worked but the room is just black. can anyone confirm this? if true, i find it disturbing that somebody was given this "on the sly" - i mean, what, do they give it out to people who say things that prince feels follow his current dogma in the "u tell us" or chat room? ugh.
