The Vault I

Going through the archives, you wonder how many prince albums we might have if wasn't for the
CONTRACTUAL
OBLIGATION
'S

God bless WB for forcing prince to release more music. Long may it continue, as were not getting too much as club members.

hey, i love chaos and disorder and i think "the vault" (old friends 4 sale) is definitely one of the best albums he released in the 90's. rave is the worst thing he's EVER released. ok, aside from the New Master wink

For me, Rave in2 and un2 are OK. They aren't the best albums that I have ever put in my cd player and definitely aren't the worst.

As far as material that has been released since he has been free, I am mixed on a lot of it. I LOVE Crystal Ball and Rainbow children, while I like ONA and the Rave albums. As long as there is NEVER another New Power Soul, I will continue 2 support him. Of course, everytime that I am about to give up on Prince, he hits me with one that verifies why I am a fan of his.

Let's not 4get the Black album, and the hits collection, with the B sides, as well as chaos, and the vault.

My main point is that without the contractual obigation albums, we would not have a lot of music from prince, whether u like the whole albums (which is quite rare with prince) or a few of each album, every album has given us some enjoyment.

As 4 the new stuff, same as the past some good some bad, but I will always buy a new prince album. What can I say I'm a fan!!

Yes but lets not also forget that we got The Hits and Bsides from the 'forced release' and that Prince had no qualms about playing Lettitgo, Dark, Peach, Pink Cashmere or Extraordinary from the discs that the nasty Warner Bros people made him earn money from.

Somebody put that teddy back in the pram

HERE, HERE!!! you hit it right on the fuckin' head with that one.

i wish he was still contractually obligated to warner brothers and things had been handled better public relations-wise in his career...can you imagine how much stuff we'd have? remastered classic albums, extra tracks, live shows from every tour, sign o the times and everything else on dvd with all the bells and whistles...think about it.

Wishful thinking, angel.

We got what we got and we'll get what we get.
Cliché, OK, but more than enough for me.
Every album has it's charm, and I wouldn't want to not have any of them.

I'm grateful for the releases and try to contain my need for even more of his art.
It's a man, not a factory and he knows that you can never please 'em all (wonder if that would be what he wants).

I'm quite sure that he only makes music for himself, and I'll always like it a lot better that way than when he would make it 4 us.

I know we don't like mentioning him on here but:

Just be thankful your not Michael Jackson fans, an album in every 5 years, then we might have something to complain about!!
