oh what a difference 3 years makes.

ok so i havent joined but im reading here,everything that ppl think,what's going on etc...

here's why i havent joined & why i may not:

1: a cyber nightclub which,from reports is playing an Ahdio show that fans got 2 years ago when they paid $100us 2 join.

2: fancy graphics... is this what ppl r paying 4? the kind of thing that other artists would have up on their site 4 free.a message board & discussion area which has started a thread (Jam Of the year) which,by the looks of things,is just ripped off from Alphabet Soup on this very site.
its the NPG Music Club not the NPGNintendoGraphicsClub.

3: The cheap cost of the club this year may be 2 try & hide the fact that the albums,dvd's,etc.. that will be released this year will be at sky high prices since things r never cheap thru NPGMC Retail.
& u can only access that retail section if u join up right?
(if im wrong on that one plz correct me)
so in that case ur screwed anyway if u want the music,which will end up being very xpensive.
also if you're overseas from the USA then the time it takes 4 releases 2 become available in stores is a very long wait.
I cant see Prince doing another world tour this year like ONA last year (which he snubbed Australia again) so preferred seating this year plus soundcheck benefits r useless unless ur at the odd gig or Paisley Party/Celly.

4: any site where there is a checkout or where u pay via credit card should always have the lil padlock on there 2 say it is secure.
P doesnt have 2 be a webmaster 2 realise this.also the ppl in charge of this should have realised this when they originally put the site 2gether
(i know they r fixing things & i commend that,but still,it's people's money we're talkin' about)


It just doesnt seem like it is worth this much.
I am sure alot of ppl r joining just 4 the fact they r die-hard fans & r willing 2 pay whatever 4 any venture Prince partakes in.
but u gotta draw the line somewhere.
if something becomes available that is worth $40au then i will join,but un4tun8ly,it seems like a joke 2 me.

1. I'm having a blast there. already got my $25 worth!
2. I like the graphics and interactivity.
3. It's only the first few days of the new version. I'm sure all the bugs will be fixed at one point.
4. Whatever Prince will release will never reach Israel anyways, so the club is my only way to get the stuff.
5. For all his music that I've been enjoying over the years, that's my way of thanking him, by supporting the club and the music he creats.

The club rocks. We got most of what we asked for.

I'll tell you what the best thing for me has been so far...and I'm almost embarrassed to say it cuz I sound like a geek...hanging out WAITING for Glam Slam to open.

I chatted to loads of other UK people fighting to stay awake, laughed about coffee and passwords...it really was like queuing fo a club.

And when you see Orgers pop up it really is like being out and bumping into friends.

Year 3 has a very human/community feel to it...it looks like theyve really thought about it this year

Sorry Joshy84au. Ur on your own. We wanted chat rooms etc - we got it. We wanted a lower price - we got it. We wanted a better site - we got it. We wanted a regular contact base with Prince - we got it.

So many things are happening in there. . my membership cost me under £17!! I know I will most prolly have to pay extra for things - although the blurb at the begining did say the $25 covered ALL of the membership for 2003 - but I doubt the dvd's etc will be exclusive.

So please . . if you haven't paid $25, don't moan - it's really quite rude to do!

All I can say is I LOVE the new site, and I personally feel what I've already gotten from the Club far surpasses the $25 price I paid to join.

I am MORE than happy and satisfied.

I've already had $25 worth of fun, and I haven't even been able to see the vids yet. Worth it.

Of course its early days, but come on, they could have hidden plenty on tracks on the site. at no addtional cost.

Even if Prince didn't want to give away studio material, he could have hidden 20 tracks from one live performance, all over the site to make, for arguements sake, a whole Parade show.

If you are happy with the spiritual library, then I'm glad for you, but 99% of the fans want music. We got one song, in poor quality.

I'm with Josh on this one.

Again Prince pisses people off. He could have avoided this so easily. NOT charging a donation to enter. A free site, with chargable content. Not a chargable site with chargeable content.

Prince is still trying to treat his fans like he treats his staff. He does not want to be accountable to anyone, yet he wants complete loyality from others. Until he learns you cannot have both, he'll piss as many people off as he makes happy.

Of course we should give Prince the benefit of the doubt...like we did on 2002...

meanwhile, we are all here 'cuz of the music, and although some of us appear to be content "chatting" with one another, most of us are actual Real Live People who have friends already and we just want some new music already!!! and it seems like prince is just gonna keep teasing us with the damn dvd...dude, that woulda been fine LAST DECEMBER.
