In my haste to join, I didn't see a separate area to "renew membership" vs. "join now." So I chose the "join now" page, then entered my old username and password, filled out the credit card and address stuff, then hit submit.

My username was rejected - "already taken" (sure, by ME last year!) - so I had to pick a new username. Maybe I could have kept my original username, the one I've had since the Club began, if I had found the "renew membership" rather than "join now" page.

Did anyone else have this experience?

I don't think you guys should feel stupid. It's not like you had anyone explain anything to us. I just waited to renew today cuz I figured someone here would know how to renew. I really don't know if it makes a difference.

my old user name was 'nupwrsoul'... and I registered a new one as "NuPwrSoul" -- they are case sensitive, so if you want the same handle try changing your letter casings.

does anyone know if renewal vs. new will make a difference?

i didn't take my old one..and i didn't check here for the link first...and i never got the email..so this year i have a new name..

I did a new name due to the same problem. I don't think it makes any difference as I did the same last year and did not seem to miss anything.

Thanks now I have added them to my favourites.

Thank u for the member link, it's the only way I can get into the site. At the entrance when I put in my member name gates open and then it takes me to a search thing called common name. I emailed help but for now your link is the only way I have into the site!!! Orger's are the best!
