What the 25$ price means...

- Negative: No cds and no access to the vault this year (and what a disapointment: damn are we gonna wait until 2045 ?) ==> I won't join

- Positive: great album in stores within the next few months. I can already smell it!

Or they might sell some extra albums in the retail section
once they're ready to go instead of having it like last
year when we dished out our $ at the beginning of the year
and had to wait until the end of the year to get the cds.

This way no one gets to bitch, you can just access the site
and pay for an album once it's available and it will be
shipped out to you right then and there.

But yes, this does make a store-retail album more likely.
I like that.

Each room of the house offers an ever-changing array of xperiences, including REFLECTION, KNOWLEDGE, and MUSICOLOGY. Come xperience rooms 2 interact with other members, view CYBERCLIPS with ur friends, and engage transmissions from the next stage of the New Power Generation. All members will also get access 2 advanced presale opportunities 4 the BEST SEATS at Prince's live events in the future. The new RETAIL room will have all the NPG Retail u can only get from within the walls of the NPG Music Club. And r construction crews will not be taking a break, so new rooms and renovations will continue all year.

BEST SEATS at Princes live events in the future???
What if there are NO concerts in the coming future???
Particularly in the UK, where I live???

you're probably right, but it still make you think twice. i got Crystal Ball, Rainbow & ONA Live from my local HMV in the UK and they were cheaper that getting it through the club. So it's really a gamble on going to see him live. and IF he does have a child on it's way (i onlt said IF), i don't see him doing a World Tour in 03.

Well, speaking as a very vocal critic of NPGMC 2002, I have to say that I'm glad I've handed over my $25 for 2003.

It's already showing itself to be a unique experience. I feel like I've bought a new Prince video game. Much like the Interactive CD, only more up to date.

With a chatroom and a message board as well as videos, music, retail and the ability to completely ignore anything that you don't like by simply not visiting those particular rooms (pretentious, cryptic wafflings, etc), this is the website that I think most of us have always wanted from Prince. A total change from the stale site of 2002.

Rather than just a site that will send you music at some point during the year, this site truly creates a sense of community.

Just my initial opinion.

If I lived somewhere that is not likely to get a tour, I would consider that before entering the club strictly to get good seats. I dont know why people from other countries or meaningless cities in the US always do that

I felt the same way. It feels like the Interactive CD! I still pull that CD rom out sometimes because its so well done and interesting. And we have a new song, Reflection, already. I am sure it wont be enough for some

25 dollars isnot that much money. I would pay it just to enjoy the site. But it was called a donation. A donation to what?

I totally agree with u Haystack.

This is how I always HOPED His site would come across, as an interactive experience - the way it is designed also means that SO much more can be added 2 explore etc - I dig it, it's worth the 25 bucks alone I reckon. Obviously a lot of time and effort has been put in2 the idea and the problems of last year have at least been addressed in a way that its a much fairer experience across the board.

Like u said, u dont have 2 visit any of the rooms u are not interested in - but it's nice all the same that they are there 4 people who ARE interested - something 4 all.

I think the only thing I would like 2 see personally is the addition of being able 2 hold a private chat with someone in the chat-room, it would be nice 2 at least have that option - but it aint a biggie. (and if there IS a way of doin it that I havent yet noticed, somebody please post!)

DYING 2 see that BriXton footage - I was there, and it was a great show. My computer keeps crashing when it trys 2 load it!!! crash

Excited about the GlaM SlaM happening 2ite - but man, 3am in England - I dunno about that! zzz

One thing I would like 2 hear about tho is from any fams that have a dial-up connection...how they feel. How different is the html site I wonder? I havent bothered looking - Im 2 busy walking around this amazing virtual world! rainbow

That purple mist scares the sh*t outta me tho I gotta say!
lol

What the $25 really means is that Prince has no obligations to fulfill so people wont be able to complain.

On top of this there are no claims of what you will or wont get within the year and the money was cleverly described as a "contribution" which has a whole different legal meaning that a "joining fee".

Oh yeah - theyve certainly learnt SOMETHING from years 1 and 2

With all of that said, do you honestly think that Prince would take your little $25 and not give you something for it? Can you honestly say that you didnt get MORE than $100 worth of music and video last year?

Where does it say a new album will be in stores within the next few months? Or is that just a hunch of yours? I mainly joined because I figured $25 wasn't that much, and the club COULD deliver some unique shit this year. And even if it's not that much, it was only $25 (but dammit there better be more stuff than what its got now), and I'm sure his ass will be visiting the Baltimore/DC area sometime within the next 8 months.

"meaningless cities"...lol...I think I know what you mean, but that is funny. However, I bet someone who lives in North Dakota doesn't feel "meaningless".

You think so? what about ONA live ready to be shipped by the end of november, but many members still didn't have it by january? yeah it was in stores already!

Cool, perhabs people will have the opportunity to buy "Xpectation" on CD, instead of MP3... like they did with TRC and ONA. Why not sell an album twice if your fans are foolish enough to accept mp3's?

And what about the price? i think it will be another 25$ for one disc.

I hope nobody hits me with a brick but here it goes.

Well folks the new NPGMC just got up and running so please give it a chance.

I thought last club season that hey why not just open up a website and let the people pick and choose what they want...so hey if that's what is going to happen this time around than good, instead of paying a whole fee to wait and not know exactly what you are getting.

So far I like what I see and am enjoying it but yet some folks complain about $25 dollers to access it!!! come on guys and gals if it wouldn't be running you would still be complaining about something.

Heck how many times have we all blown money on shit and not got what we wanted but we just say oh well and never do it again but hey you keep coming back and complain.

Like I said it's here so enjoy... some portions are still being worked on so you never know what's coming next.

Now somebody hand me a beer and let's all just chill for a minute.
*********************************************
omg I'll believe it when I see it omg

You can open a private chat window with someone (amongst other options), by right clicking their names.
