Its not right to just let members of the NPGMC access the website. Prince needs to realize that he has famz that love him even more than some of the NPGMC members. I have been a fam since I was 10 back in '84. Never doubted his music not once. Always bought each and every album every year it came out. Had pictures on my wall. Now I have my symbol window decal on my car and recently bought the symbol keychain. I am a dedicated fam and kind of resent the fact that we are not welcomed into his website.

I must admit it does seem rather harsh...but then again we arent getting news etc (or stuff that should be free to all) we are getting payed-for good like Vid and MP3 files

You'll be warmly welcomed into the site...if you fork over $25!
I do understand where you're coming from though. I don't like downloading music/videos on my computer so there's no real incentive for me to join. But then I feel like I'm being punished when he offers stuff Xclusively through his site & I can't have it because I'm not a member.

If you dont like downloads etc then the ONLY reason to join is the rare possibility that you might be able to get good seats at a gig (I didnt last year despite my membership).

The reatil in that place, Xclusive or not,should never be a reason to join cuz its so damn overpriced and is always available in the shops cheaper,,,look at ONA Live

i was expecting the new site to allow everyone in, and have a few restricted areas for members only. now, it looks like you have to pay if you want to access even the news, or retail sections. which is kinda. . .weird

As far as I can see, they don't really intend you to get the vids and mp3 files, people are finding ways around of downloading them, but actually they're just meant to be listened to while online. So when those files are eventually taken down, you'll have payed for the memory of those things...

It does seem sad that people casually checking out the site don't get to see much, there's not a huge amount that they can actually see that is going to entice them to become new fans.

Also they seem to be limiting their market if only hardcore fans have the choice to buy retail items...

My two cents: It's not like some of the members are not gonna post everything here anyway. Somebody has already probably put the videos out on bootleg already. Although I had my doubts, I am glad I joined again because the website is a lot more like I imagined it should be with the chatroom and message board. What did I get for 25.00? The opportunity to pay Prince back for the way he has made me feel for the last twenty-five years. The opportunity to say thank you.

First the price is too high, so he lowers the price. Now people want the shit for free? OH MY...

As far as the fee, get a debit card already. You people do go to banks, don't you? Or is this the "check cashing" crowd?

I think the new site is so wicked...I would pay $25 bucks, just to get into it to see all the cool rooms. And I'm from Canada so the membership actually costs me $50 bucks.

So stop complaining and be happy that we even have a web-site to enjoy!
