The concept of streaming audio and video is all well and good, but it makes my experience of NPGMC 2003 a worthless one.

I cannot view the videos because their servers cannot cope, and I also am not too keen on searching through the house for the music I want to hear.

I'm also not prepared to sit up until 3 in the morning to hear choppy remixes.

One reason that streaming is mooted over straight downloads is that people will then not be able to get hold of the audio files and they wont appear on the web, or for sale on ebay.

NEWSFLASH - The people who do that kind of thing are exactly the people who know how to get around streaming and still save the files to their hard drives. The people the club actually hurts are those who dont know how to get them onto the hard drive, namely the genuine non-profit making paid up members, namely me.

Can someone please host the files from NPGMC 2003 somewhere that only NPGMC members can get them, so that I can save them to my PC and listen to them without the stop-start.

so very true...its a shame bootleggers ruin it 4 the rest of us...maybe P needs 2 take a long hard look at Y they r doing better than he is at distributing his music...I would rather pay prince..but well...as much as I like the idea of the site...I will still keep prince.org as my homepage cos it loads up quickly! I don't care 2 much 4 fancy graphics and streaming videos/music when I have 2 sit and wait 4 them 2 load up on my 56k modem (and yes I know that after all that they will be hiden in my temp files)...it makes the experience frustrating as hell...but well I still like the idea of the new site! its just not practical 4 me 2 use it everyday...

Are you blaming those who sell bootlegs on the NPGMC being underwhelming this year?

I'm feelin ya here...I'd prefer a straight download format like Year 1.

Not sure if copyright was the motivation behind this or not, but sooner or later, as the entire industry shifts, Prince will align himself with what works. In the meantime, us paid up NPGMC people will still find a way...

the GlamSlam Xperience was cool but the streaming/download did take time. after sitting there for a while listening to it upload i eventually just walked away from the computer, did other stuff, went to bed. . . . woke up this morning. guess the file is in there somewhere. maybe later
