Did I (and others) chat with Prince before the main event I will give you my evidence (and I think even Lav might back me up on this one).
Prince appeared on the steps of the path to the chat room and in there were two people under the names of PaisleyPark3 and PaisleyPark9. Paisleypark9 took all the tricky questions and was directed by PP3 whenever somebody wanted to private chat. Ontop of that PP3 knew everything about the guitar Prince is holding in the picture (who gave it to him and when, how much it means to him etc), he was the only one of the two entering ito the religious conversations, talked the talk and,the clincher for me, somebody said "wouldnt it be cool if Prince was in here now" to which the reply instantly came "would it matter to you if he is?" not "if he WAS". Having done a little bit of psychology study in the past I know that this use of the word "is" implies something entirely different to the word "was". He also said that Prince would never post on another forum (Lav didnt like taht to much ) Unfortunately I had to leave then but its been bugging me since? What do you think, was anybodyelse in there at the time from the Org (besides Lav)...what do you think Lav...honestly? Like the person said it doesnt really matter...but youd like to know wouldnt you?! The thing is Paisley Park 1 to 9 are nicks of moderators on NPGMC. It wasn't a fan then. It could have been Prince but you'll never know that for sure. Why wouldn't Prince drop by the chat from time to time? He can remain fairly anonymous and have fun. Besides yesterday Nikka Costa was a special guest and I bet Prince was overseering the event in one way or another... We Can Funk

... and the fact that you'll never know is just plain silly. Why remain annonymous on your own frickin' web site??? "You've got to believe in something... why not believe in me?"

b/c people would go nuts instead of just talking to him like a human being. I don't blame him (if it was him, lol)... Seems like a decent case PurpleDove I suppose other PP employees could "act" like him just to mess w/ people, so you never really know. I hope it was him!

Yeah it would go totally crazy and,as much as Id like to think it wouldnt matter,we all know it would (even if people wont admit it). The argument that soem people put forward about it is that, whoever teh person behind the name is,there views will still be just as valid/say the same thing...but Im not so sure
Afterall we are all there for him..I mean if you were a religious person would you rather hear God/Jesus expressing their views directly or through a priest. OH...I'm not comparing Prince to God by the way...I just couldnt think of another example of opinions.

Part of the reason I don't like the NPGMC chat/forum is that people assume Prince is lurking somewhere and they fluff themselves up.

No...If Prince wanted to drop by and stay anonimous, he would never pick a paisleypark# name. It's very obvious to everyone those are intern names. I he wanted to stay anonimous, he would pick a name, very much like the ones we are using... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
....and remember: Members get to hear it last

(look, I'm replying to myself!) Except the new religion forum (knowledge, ahem, excuse me). I kinda like that one. I prefer the direct approach.

OH...I'm not comparing Prince to God by the way...I just couldnt think of another example of opinions. I have to respectfully disagree. I think at first, there would probably some people acting crazy, just as you suggest. But once the novelty wears off I hardly think that would be the case. But I do think it would be cool to know that Prince has actually joined the discussion at various times and it would really give fans the feeling that the main attraction to the NPGMC (Prince) is really and truly a member of the NPGMC community. I have to bring your attention to the fact that there were probably many fans that never thought they would see the day when Prince would have a one-on-one discussion session with his fans for fear that "people would go crazy". But for the most part, the discussions at the soundchecks were very cordial by most fans. So if people can act sane in person, I have no reason to believe they would act crazy only on the web.
