TORONTO CELEBRATION? Have any of you seen today's chat room discussion topic?

As a tribute to Bo:
Not saying there will be, but if the Celebration was in Baghdad, would you go?" With SARS? Not sure... Second tribute to Bo: If I was your SARSfriend... But it would be nice to go someplace besides Minnie... But I guess not for those who have not had the chance to see Paisley...

Yes that is not a very responsible move with SARS aboot. http://www.goldiesparade.co.uk/ - Prince discography, tour history, news and more.

With the thought of people coming from all over the world to the celebration and the Sars virus spreading in Toronto why would they even think of such a thing, and why would they hold it there instead of PP?

B/c the media is throwing the SARS thread out of proportion (in Toronto anyway)... I just wanna see PP...

I reckon this is Prince's way of testing a). his fans's loyalty (would you travel to see him play a city plagued by a life-threatening illness?) and/or b). how much his fans have bought into the SARS media hysteria. I also don't think there will be a Celly this year. 2004 will be the big year for touring/special live shows. Get saving. [This message was edited Sun Apr 27 3:43:43 PDT 2003 by JohnnyTheFox]

It's a cunning plan!! Prince wants us all to go there, catch SARS and die, cuz that way he can be sure to get the bootleggers! Put yourself on the worldwide org map! www.frappr.com/princeorg

In my opinion... Paisley Park is an irreplaceable part of the Celebration. If held at another venue, a part of the whole will be missing.

i gotta admit that i'll be a tad irritated if he has a celly this year, b/c he never seems to realize that we have lives and families and jobs, and that when you're talking about traveling and spending a good chunk of money, a LOT of longtime fans who otherwise would go simply can't.
i was absolutely going to go this year...but since there has been no announcement, i went ahead and made other vacation plans. that being said, i realize that i'm being selfish as hell, and it'd be better for him to have the celly w/ short notice than not have it at all. so this topic seems to suggest that perhaps p really is cutting all ties with the money-apple. that makes me pretty sad if it's true No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

I just figure the question was asked because of him living there. I personally would not travel to Toronto.

TORONTO IS NOT PLAGUED WITH ANYTHING EXCEPT MEDIA HYPE! SARS is not yet a plague - but it is a serious disease. Toronto / Canada is the only non asian country that is exporting cases of SARS to other countries. The World Health Organization - put out a travel advisory against Toronto - and does not make a habit of creating panic and pandamonium over trivial issues. Hopefully, SARS will disappear from the Toronto area, but there have been 20 deaths so far in Canada - all of them in Ontario. Sounds like good reason to be cautious - in my opinion . . .

Yea, but they're thinking about removing/modifying that warning. It's been contained to the hospitals & is not nearly the threat it is in Asia. It's been blown out of proportion. Yes there's reason to be cautious, but there's reason to be cautious everywhere w/ this thing going around...

T.O has not been exporting cases of SARS to other countries. I know there are stories of a man in Detroit with SARS symptoms...but does he have SARS? I bet Michael Moore is having a laugh at the media hype and scare around this issue.

Just a small chance of catching that virus and bringing it home to my family or anyone is too much of a chance.

no, i wouldn't go to toronto for a celly. right now the CDC is trying to reduce travel to/from toronto to reduce the spread of SARS. i think that's a very good idea.
also, it's not worth it to me to go there for that

the whole SARS thing is way blown out of proportion as is the medias mantra to carry out. Of the Sars cases being reported in Toronto there hasn't been a new case reported in three weeks & the people who've contracted it are already vulnerable ie., the elderly & already terminally ill individuals so take everything you here with the usual grain of salt. That being said PP is irreplacable when it comes to the celebration & I myself wouldn't attend if its held in various venues.

very well stated, and exactly right (imho, yada yada). the reason that it became so out of control in china is because the repressive government's unwillingness to take care of its citizens. read up on some of china's human rights violations sometime, if you don't know much about them - it's frightening.
as long as standard infectious disease procedures are followed and adequate health care is available, i don't see SARS being an issue for much of anyone, except perhaps someone with a severely compromised immune system to begin with. stop the hysteria! here are some FLU facts
"Each flu season is unique, but it is estimated that approximately 10% to 20% of U.S. residents get the flu, and an average of 114,000 persons are hospitalized for flu-related complications. About 36,000 Americans die on average per year from the complications of flu." that's just in america! just wash yer hands folx! "not a fan" yeah...ok

Every idiot that is afraid to go to Toronto because of a fear of SARS should read your facts. Of course then they will be paralyzed with fear come the next flu season.

SARS will not be the last thing of this kind coming our way. Expect tuberculosis resistant to antibiotics in the near future.
The cause? Overpopulation. Most of us will live and see 10 billion people on this earth. At least 5 billion too many. Think, before you have kids!
