Suggestion for NPGMC 2003

They should have various packages:

Music Package - $50 (4 cds/dvds all shipped at one time. That's $10 a cd plus $10 shipping)

Concert Package - $100 (CDs/DVDs + concert benefits, aftershow and sound check access)

Celebration Package - $300 (CDs/DVDs + concert benefits + 1 Celebration ticket 7day pass and a chance to purchase another for $100)

Coming right out and offering things like this would avoid all the confusion and distrust.

Any supporters?

I'd like to see a small fee 'just to be a member',
which would give you access to the site for a few
downloads and the opportunity to buy CDs and
concert tix etc. Rather than having an initial
$100 lay out for everything.

That is an interesting proposal.

Thing is, you want to incourage two things:

1) Pre-pay

This makes it so that Prince can afford to go to a company, say "I need 5000 copies of this made" to accomidate the 4000 members who bought and the 1000 who are waiting and those who will buy from the regular retail section.

2) Direct to Prince sales including items that can be used as promotion.

Why buy the 4cd set from Tower records when you can buy it from Prince directly and have access to tiny member bonuses like wallpapers, the occasional download, information on advanced ticket purchasing, etc.

If you're just joining to be "a member of the NPG," then you're joining for all the wrong reasons.

- Cheers

You are presuming Prince is going to tour again and I just don't think he will.

How about this?

A $100 membership with nothing agreed to, except that you are a member. biggrin

That gives Prince the option of doing absolutely nothing, which is made clear by the "nothing agreed to", and/or coming up with whatever he decides to release or do for his members? The only clause is that you MUST have been a member from day one, or at least 30 days prior to whatever he decides to give or do for his members.

Excellent idea, LaVisHh! biggrin

I have never once complained about the treatment that we have received, but I would NEVER buy into something sight unseen.

I'm sure he would. If he sees that he can go to Chicago, LA, San Fran, Washington, Detroit, etc. once or twice a year, I'm positive that he'd do it

If I'm in his shoes, I hit those spots and do a two or three night stay. He doesn't have to hit every metro area in the US and abroad. He could easily look at his database and be like "I can pretty much guarentee a packed house for two nights at the Palace in Detroit, also in London, Paris, Antwerp..." instead of settling for numerous small venues and hoping he can pack the house in Des Moines, Id.

Save the small venues for the aftershows...members only smile

Daupin:

An excellent idea about the concert venues. I mean he did 3 days in DC last year and didn't have any problems selling tic.

My only advice. Plenty of planning and promotion. None of that last minute stuff that usually happens.

Sorry, one more thing: Make better arrangements for seating.

...Id be happy 2 know that the NPGMC would ensure that there would be no more of those disorganised (and frankly, downright dangerous) Bagleys/Emporium Aftershows!

Man - good shows, but Jeez - the crush was so intense at times it was pretty damned scary (I had 2 stand on a bottle propped against a wall during The Bagley's 'Egyptian Extravaganza') Still - at least I didnt bring my swimsuit 4 the 'pool' hmmm Maybe that was the puddle outside in the yard lol

NOT fun - so i agree, Members only at some of the aftershows - OR at the very least, just make it SAFE 4 all!

Im pretty sure those days are long gone now tho - I aint experienced anything like that since the mid 90's - thank God.

That would make ME happy - knowing I/we could get out if we needed 2. Im just glad their wasnt a fire at Bagleys that nite - we'd wouldnt have stood a chance! sad

Anyhoo - 'nuff negativity! Just shootin the breeze... sun

My two suggestions: Concert DVD(s) and do something about preventing any shipping fiascos which I have always had with them.

He'll charge 100 bucks and in return give you an MP3 of his cover of Steve Miller's "Take The Money And Run"
