Some Qs regarding NPGMC downloads... How and where was Cybersingle released online?
Were there officially released video files for Ballad Of Dorothy Parker and The Work Part 1 in addition to the sound files? Ditto Face Down and Anotherloverholenyohead? Were there two Return Of The Bump Squad live versions within the digests? Was a documentary "Profile Of Prince" part of the official downloads? Were there two Copenhagen rehearsal MP3s as part of the C-NOTE thing? If so all the others were single? Any link to comprehsive listing of all tracks available through the NPGMC website? Thanks.

NPGMC experimented with Copenhagen by sending very few email links out in November and the download was only up for a matter of hours. The CNOTE version was an edited download of the original version.Any link to comprehsive listing of all tracks available through the NPGMC website? This list has previously been posted on both prince.org and alt.music.prince (by someone else) - I've deleted a couple of hoaxes that were mischievously included.

Thanks for all the info thus far, I'm fully paid up member of both years so it's not in the name of bootlegging by the way.
I have two differing versions of Return Of The Bump Squad and was just wondering which is the official single MP3? One namechecks Miami. You don't list Ballad Of Dorthy Parker and The Work Part 1 Live under audio I notice. Were they just videos? Was When Eye Lay My Hands On U's video only available as a sample and never in full? What is the meaning behind the title "BasicWillGetTrcOn" and what is the purpose of this sample of TRC's title track? Why was Silicon made available in year 1 digest and year 2 general? Same version? Isn't the 1+1+1 live a different version to that on ONA Live?

Only 1 version of Silicon- was part of Ahdio #2 and later as a seperate MP3.Then for just about all of year 2. 1+1+1=3 MP3 was the one recorded at the Celebration 2002 and not the same as the one that appears on ONALive. I just found Uptown's "NPGMC comprehensive Discography" and they don't list Gett Off (Live) or Poor Goo (Live) as audio for edition #11 and no Face Down (Live) or Anotherlover (Live) as audio in #12.
Both these are wrong? I wonder if Langebleu's list is the first truly comprehensive NPGMC Discog available, keep a copy of it for future use.

First of all, Essence, I've got a bit on but I'll get back to you later tonight - I've not forgotten you.
Secondly - it's not my list - I simply snagged it from alt.music.prince when it was first posted, and deleted the fakes. Thirdly, my guess is you are looking at Uptown #53 - page 51 indicates they don't list all the songs - they are only really focussing on prevuiouslu unreleased songs. Whilst I'm on - I seem to recall that Bumpsquad was from Paisley - but I'll do more research. he performed the song in Miami in 1995 and I'llcompare recordings - but I can't hear a Miami namecheck on the NPGMC track after first listen. I'll be back (as Arnold said) unless MrTation covers all bases before I get another free moment. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Miami gets name checked with a cry of 'Miami' after the accapella tape beginning. And later, 'Miami, let me see your hands up, clap 'em': Glam Slam East, Miami, 8 June (AM), 1995) - not released.
Miami gets name checked with the cry 'Miami, is the party in here, is the party in here?' followed by asking how many peole are old enough to know how to do the bump: Glam Slam East, Miami, 9 June (AM), 1995 - not released. Miami unsurprisingly doesn't get name checked in 'Return of the Bump Squad', 21 October, 1995 - officially released as an mp3 download in edition #2 of the NPGMC, 22 March, 2001. Actually, I now think you are looking in the wrong part of that edition of Uptown.

For a complete discography you need: Uptown #50 Article, 'The Work Pt 1', starting page 5 Uptown #53 Article, 'The Work Pt 2', starting page 67 The latter does list 'Gett Off' (Live), 'PoorGoo' (from The Undertaker video, as well as 'Face Down' and 'Anotherloverholenyohead. Not to be confused with the article on starting page 49 of issue # 53 'Got Joints 4 Days' reviewing unreleased songs from NPGMC / Internet. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

I know you didn't write the list but if it irons out all the errors then it can finally call itself "comprehensive". http://pages.prodigy.net/.../npgmc.htm This link for example doesn't list Face Down or Anotherlover video files.

You don't list Ballad Of Dorthy Parker and The Work Part 1 Live under audio I notice. Were they just videos? The Work Part 1 (studio version) was first released on Napster (April 6, 2001. It then featured on Ahdio show 3 and as adownload in the same edition, The original version of The Ballad of Dorothy Parker preceded it on the Ahdio Show. Of course, it was also later featured on The Rainbow Children download and (again!) in the Ahdio show #11.
The two tracks to which you refer specifically are the live performances from successive nightly appearances on the Today Show. As far as I can see, the two live performances were not released as audio files (my apologies for the very fast response which was obviously inaccurate). Was When Eye Lay My Hands On U's video only available as a sample and never in full? The NPGMC video only covered part of the song. I believe it was designed so that if played in a loop mode you can't tell the end. Never read whether there was a full length video of the song made (but my guess would be that the whole song was shot). You might also remember that there was an attempt to deliver an 'interactive' version of this video early on in the club's infancy. You could download the capability to 'mix' different elements of this and play them through the original 'player'. Your mix accompanied low bitrate (alomost animated) version of 'WILMHOU'. However, there were many reported glitches with this, and shortly thereafter NPGMC version 2.0 was born which removed the need to download into the 'player'. It all seems so long ago now! What is the meaning behind the title "BasicWillGetTrcOn" and what is the purpose of this sample of TRC's title track? I've never gone back to amend that on the list, but I'm sure I know where it comes from. You'll recall first of all that edition #9 of NPGMC was a download of 'The Rainbow Children' album only. Moreover, you will probably remember that NPGMC during the first year had Basic (monthly) and Premium (Annual) members. Usually, Premium received more trax than basic members. I can't recall whether Premium also got access to trax at both HI and LO bitrates as opposed to Lo bitrate on some songs for Basic membership. However, for month #9, Premium received access to the website first to download the entire album. Basic members were given access sometime later in the month (it being a monster untracked download of the album, this gave Premium a chance to dowwnload first and inevitably eased server pressure by staggering).
I think the person who made this list most probably copy and pasted the text from the download pages and the reference to TRC here is text on the site advising that Basic members will be able to download shortly - the date is missing. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Thanks. I've checked the list back to the files I downloaded as a member and I have all four of those in mp3 audio as well as video format. I kept all of my NPG download fiiles in one place so I'm sure all of these were officially released.I know you didn't write the list but if it irons out all the errors then it can finally call itself "comprehensive". http://pages.prodigy.net/.../npgmc.htm This link for example doesn't list Face Down or Anotherlover video files. The Uptown list is more accurate than the list when it comes to the beginning of the club - as they make clear which were free tracks before Edition #1 was launched.
I think we're getting close enough to the real thing here! ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

I think we're getting close enough to the real thing here! Hehehe yeah, I think we're there near enough. Like I say save it when done though so it's there next time someone else asks, like I said before there doesn't seem to be a correct listing available anywhere. It's understandable I guess due to the nature of the club's complicated unorganised nature but you'd expect Uptown to get it right at least, I guess they didn't slip up til volumes #11 and #12 in part two though. I remember that Techplayer (something like that), it was a nightmare on my old system, corrupted all sound files. The reason I'm compiling it all together now is I have a new computer that can cope with it all... but the player just seemed poor anyway yeah. By the way the "BasicWillGetTrcOn" is a geunine MP3, it's a 45 second sample of TRC's title track. The filename makes sense now, should just say November 1st at the end for the basic members information.
