Then he launches a major tour to support this album, and makes an official copy of this album available on CD, for sale at the concert.

Also, there is a ticket/cd combo presale through his web site for the tour. You can purchase both as a combo package in advance, that way you're not only getting the best seats but also guaranteeing a copy of the CD which you can pick up at the show.

Think something like this could work?

Prince at one point talked about working a copy of "Emancipation" into ticket prices.
