Hey HEy HEY!

I think you'll be lucky to even get a club. It startles me to read about all the freebees and extras Prince should send y'all.

NPGMC is a business.

I'm sure Prince and his manager buddy L. Londell have discussed wether NPGMC is worth it. A lot of you seem to think it was a good deal. But a lot of you complained, and that's quite a few bad apples in a very modest-sized cart.

NPGMC was such an intangable venture that those who thought it was a good deal for them were probably right, and those who complained and felt ripped off were probably right, too. The concept of an "organic club" is so flawed in it's ability to please all customers, how does it make sense to continue?

That's just asking for trouble.

...but seriously: you're hoping for goods and services for free, and that is just a little greedy and unrealistic.

You may not even get any new Prince music in ANY form in 2003. Prince is a man, not a funk robot. He eats salad, he sits on toilets. He isn't a robot. He my not decide to do any studio time at all this year.

2002 NPGMC is a done deal. Done. There is no future obligations to be met, vis-a-vis free downloads the following year.

Free music, just 'cuz? Wow!

Many of the "commentaries" on the NPGMC site, particularly the "Chocolate Invasion" one seemed aimed at masking the NPGMC as a business. Calling something a "club" or an "experiment in truth" etc... perhaps made their business seem more personal and inclusive, and maybe even more exciting to fans.

I agree with you the NPGMC is purely a business. But if someone is going to collect 100 bucks off each member, then they should be responsible enough to touch base with them from time to time. We went from May to December with very little information or correspondence, and no remaining CDs until the very last minute.

Suppose you went to a restaraunt, and ordered soup, an appetizer, and an entree. Then you wait an unusually long time, and the waiter never stops by to tell you whats going on. Finally when he does come to the table, he drops all 3 off. You look down and find out its not even what you thought you ordered. Now do you have a right to complain?

The closest thing to informing fans what CDs they may be getting for the year was the brief mention in the tour book. Otherwise all we got was a vague outline and cryptic email replies. They openeded themselves up to trouble by doing this.

I'm glad they released "Xpectation" if not only as compensation to those whose orders were lost/delayed, people who were not able to login to purchase presale tickets because the site went down, etc...

It's not a bad thing to let this business know they need to be more forthright and responsible with their customers, and clearly outline what they will be getting for their money and when. If NPGMC reopened with a list of the CDs to be released, at least a tenative schedule of their release dates, and a complete list of tourdates, and customer support who answer you like a normal human being, I don't think anyone would be complaining about this.

If they aren't capable of doing these things, then they shouldn't be taking money from fans at all.

HappySunshine

My goodness.
I feel blessed to hear any of the music Prince has to share.
They are his works of art,
inspired by something or someone he really loves.
And to me, that is a blessing.
If you became overwhelmed by love and had to share the feeling, would you? I hope so. And when you do, many will be happy...and hey! you might just inspire someone else!
But I won't laugh at you, or call you a theif because you want to make a buck. I will encourage you.
Because Time is Art, and if you try to keep it inside, you will bust!
That's life my friends.
Enjoy it while you can

Without music, well,
I would't be called Melody Sunshine!!!
Thank God 4 MUSIC
Mesage from the Happy Sunshine

Excellent responce. This is how everyone should approach it. You are purchasing goods and services.

Well, you didn't get great service, and the goods were not as you were "led" to believe.

People were told in the tourbook "access these CD's... "Xenophobia"

Not only was "Xenophobia" not issued in CD format, but has one track deleted, and it was retitled.

People call it a "present" or an "enticement" to rejoin, but really it was an obligation by a company that ran out of time, and had this download to refute claims made to the BBB.

I am sure they will launch another edition of teh club later this year.

But when?

I just think it would B nice if Prince & the NPGMC would say THANK U 2 all the 2002 members just as they did after the 1st edition of the club was over.

It also would B nice if they would say something about the club in 2003. Not all the details but that it will come soon or something and that Prince is just taking a breake or something.

The current situation is just as always (I mean in 2002) / the just ignore us. And they call us FAMES (how ironic...)
